I can think of one I'd be willing to trade to the Browns for a butt load of draft picks plus free up a huge amount of cap space.  I won't mention his name though as the Huddle would go into nuclear meltdown.

I would trade Luke.

Charles Johnson is a obvious choice, and we will have $0 cap hit if we cut him. Hopefully he'll retire and save us the trouble

Some other options

Captain

Adams

Norwell(walks)

Shepard (gotta go)

Stewart

Ryan and Matt aren't going anywhere. Matt because of the contract, and Ryan because he's playing good

I honestly didn't notice much of an improvement when Ryan came back.    In fact, I think we were running a bit better with Larsen.    He's not worth the money, but I get he's a fan favorite and my GOD around here that trumps everything.    He's a liability, and his injuries have piled up, if it's between cutting Kalil to keep Norwell or even Star you do it easy.

I’d hate to lose Ryan, especially since I was far less impressed than most with Larsen, but if he can’t stay healthy for 19 games I’d rather someone who can get the start so there isn’t interruption of continuity on the OL.  Stewart can go, imcool with that. I’d want a legit NFL rb to be drafted as his replacement though. I like Norwell, but he can hit the road if he’s going to want the top G contract. He’s good, but he isn’t as good as the Cult of the Buffalo around here would have you believe. Gotta keep Star, especially since he isn’t a household name and he’s a NT so he’s not gonna get top dollar. TD will stay. No one on the team is remotely close to ready to take his spot.  He’s still one of the best non-pass rushing OLBs in the game. Honestly, the only players I’d get butt hurt about losing are Cam, Luke, Olsen, TD, Short or Star. They’re our only great players.

He came back against the vikes and we got 230 rushing yards against them. He just cant stay healthy so i agree that id cut him if it meant keeping norwell.

Kalil appears to have received $24M fully guaranteed upon signing. That deal includes a $12M signing bonus over a five-year deal, which I’m not a fan of. And then there’s a $10M option bonus. You would think the option allows the Panthers to get out of the deal early, but that’s a problem if the money is already counted in the full guarantees.

Remember, with full guarantees, the team only gets out of them if there’s an offset clause. I assume the Panthers did that, but that means if they don’t keep Kalil, they need somebody to pay him $11M in a single season. So the Panthers appear to be betting that somebody will give him that money if they decline the option. And even if they do, they are still stuck with a $9.6M dead money charge thanks to the signing bonus structure.

I'm not sure who gets cut with Hurndog back in charge.  But I know who should.  Stew, CJ, R. Kalil and yes TD all should be cut.

They drafted or signed guys to replace all of them and it's time to move on.  It should have happened last year but I know why it didn't and I have come to terms with it.

Gano's replacement was drafted and he would have been shown the door in final cuts.  It didn't happen and I know why.  I've come to terms with that as well.

I'm feeling weird about Star. I know he's not much for being sentimental and is a quieter guy, but he just doesn't seem to care if he stays here. He was basically like I'll get a job somewhere, so I'm not too worried about it. Just kinda rubs me the wrong way. Also said he's going to test free agency now no matter what. I get the feeling he'll decide to move somewhere else even if we give him a good offer. Kinda sucks.

He told the truth.  I would feel the same way were I in his position.  It's just business, it ain't family.

    • After seeing hits in the last two UDFA pools, I do not in this group sorta of a let down after I gassed myself up.  Not like I know of their games, but just expected more. The duke DT only has to beat out hunte (2025 UDFA) or Ray (DL coach's kid) or even Cam Jackson mid 2025 5th.  I thought they would bring in more edges, IOL, TEs, etc...
    • My 2 favorite picks, since you didn't ask? 3. Brazzell II.  A 1000 yard WR with 4.37 speed and checks all the boxes for a Z Wide Receiver.  IN THE THIRD ROUND!!! 5.  Sam Hecht.  I think he will take over as the starter at some point this season and never look back.  IN THE FIFTH ROUND. Runner Up:  2. Hunter:  We were targeting a DT early in this draft because we did very little to replace Robinson in free agency.  Hunter was our guy and he will start. In addition to that, you got a starting tackle that should man one side of the new OL we will build for Bryce's second contract. A starting WR, offensive lineman, defensive lineman and possible Offensive tackle (at some point during this year from this draft will start.  UNREAL. In addition, I don't doubt that Wheatley (5th round) takes the FS job by next year and Lee III is Jackson's replacement in 2027.   Finally, even Kuwatch should be a special teams demon and LB depth.   Last year's draft was so good it was ugly.  This one will turn out to be uglier.  No offense Basbear--this ain't about you.
