Curious Scot how this changes your opinion of Rivera, if at all? Of course, it's long overdue, especially Dorsey.

It's a step up.

Word was Gettleman pressured him to let go of Shula but wouldn't force him.  Maybe Ron finally saw the light.

Everyone rips Hurney, but this is Marty Hurney 2.0 folks.

From listening to his radio show to seeing his approach as "Interim" GM, Hurney has seemed to have learned from his past mistakes.

I actually believe Hurney is the guy for the job right now, as crazy as that sounds. But he knows this Panthers team better than anyone out there, plain and simple.

Lol....he drafted all the core players. Of course he does.

While we're doing baseless speculation off 0 evidence.

Whose to say he didn't come to Rivera and said. It's him or both of ya?

Baseless speculation? Zero evidence? It's based on real history. He cleaned out some of the staff within the first couple of years.

It might have come to that, who knows? But we know how stubborn Ron is.

I honestly DGAF at this moment hte best case scenario and the one i'm hoping is that it was JR and only JR all along and now Rivera/Hurney can do was they wish.

JR did want a Shula family guy on the staff so even that coulda been outta Riveras hands....it could have been BOTH of those guys Hurney and Rivera on the same page....

lets hope that it was JR shitty ass and Hurney and Ron are both good going forward.

It's funny how on the huddle JR has gone from a possibly senile old man barely in touch with reality to becoming some sort of real world Supreme Leader Snoke from Star Wars that manipulates and forces everyone to do his bidding including hard ass ego driven men like Gettleman.

Yeah he meddled, and I'm glad he is gone, but don't absolve others of their roles too. They weren't just taking orders every step of the way.
