The head coach is usually the one who decides on assistants, but Ron has enough respect for Norv that if Norv wanted somebody, Ron would probably listen.

So here's hoping Norv wants Russ Grimm.

it's not like they are unknown to each other. how many years did they work together? i mean it wasn't a particularly successful run, but it was the redskins so....

Good point.

I didn't really look at Turner connections.  I probably should.

Can he take Matt Kalil with him?

I wouldn't be so quick to get rid of him just yet.  A competent LT is about as rare as a unicorn.  And there's the possibility that we don't have anyone on staff that could recognize one if they were even already on the team.

Russ Grimm Reaper

Edit- still looks like he could stomp that ass.

Take Cam away and that offense scared no one

no problem with the coaches leaving.

its pretty apparent that Ron is on a two year schedule to get a ring.... With new owner coming in and such :

1. He went after the person who knows this offense best  not a wholesale change to another system

2. Cam too, as good as he is , Cam be much better

3. change can be good. Coaches get stale. Messages not listened to....players get too comfortable.

I found the quote about Cam being ‘Nervous’ from Turner today  interesting   The days of seeing the offense lolly gag around with time running out and no sense of urgency to the line is over

    • After last season, it was the same question. And the answer most people came to was "If he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gone." He made the playoffs. No matter how it was done, we made it to the playoffs. He's safe. He's going to have a chance to keep working this out, even if next season isn't a playoff one.  I think we'll do better next year than we did this season. There's something being built here.
    • The NBA is a very fickle league. Kon is one of the hottest rookies in years and beyond just his play on the court he is a very steady competitor and that translates to the rest of the team. That has been a glaring absence with the culture of this franchise through the bulk of the LaMelo Ball years that's just being completely blunt and realistic. The enigma of LaMelo Ball is he is entering year 6 and still either red hot or ice cold. We need him to find that sweet spot. Logic dictates the Hornets will want to see this core again next year. But the clock is beyond ticking at this point. It's put up or shut up. Especially considering what the Thunder managed to do recently. I'm hopeful they can keep these wins rolling in and get some much needed playoff experience under their belts which will help substantially.
    • I think as long as the Panthers are competitive with Canales they should keep him. Pepper needs to repair his/the teams image as a place prized free agents aren't hesitant to consider. Just dont do any crazy poo for a few years.
