ESPN NBA Mock Draft Hornets select Miles Bridges

11. Charlotte Hornets
Miles Bridges
Michigan State
Sophomore
SF/PF

Charlotte continues to search for long-term solutions at both forward positions, and will likely look to add athleticism to what has become a fairly disappointing roster.

Bridges is a freakish athlete who has struggled at times to make the full-time transition to small forward, but he undoubtedly has potential as a two-way forward who can guard all over the floor and give you enough shooting, ballhandling and passing to get by at one of the most important positions in today's NBA.

I just despise the variance associated with picking 8th-15th. there's so many talented players with huge question marks and we always seem to pick the one that has the most trouble adjusting. the last "freak athlete" we drafted was MKG at 2nd overall. not saying these two players are the same, but it's just disheartening to be this bad and pick this low on a regular basis.

Wendell Carter has looked really good with bagely out.  I think he'd make a really solid nba 5. That's a big duke homer though.  Any thoughts from duke haters?

honestly the more I watch of bagley the less highly I think of him, while the more I watch of Wendell Carter the more I think of him.

Could very well be Carter ends up being the better NBA player

I think so too. Bagley is too slow for a 3 and too small for a 4. Carter has the body for an nba 5. Plus he can run the floor, handle the ball well enough and shoot the occasional 3

    • I would say that seems like an odd comment from Morgan, but at the same time it's almost impossible to find a college QB declaring for the draft to have less physical ability than BY so you can assume almost anyone you bring in would be your go to QB sneak/designed run guy.
    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
