Lol. Got to laugh every time someone mentions moving. Its not going to happen. There isn't a bigger market available, that doesn't already have a team.

I believe Hampton/Va Beach is the largest area per population without a Pro sports team

atleast thats what I heard once

All this is a formality,  it's Teppers to lose.

Already been vetted and checked out by the NFL, he's already a minority owner and he has the funds to make it happen. I'd be SHOCKED if it wasn't him.

It'll ultimately come down to the highest bid, and I'd say it's far from guaranteed that that'll be Tepper. Certainly possible and he appears to be in that conversation but it's entirely possible somebody else outbids him. Just because he has more than enough money to buy it doesn't mean he's willing to spend more for the team than anyone else (and this team in particular; he may wait for the next NFL team to sell if this bid get higher than he's willing to pay).

One thing to consider about Tepper: The influence of the Rooneys.

The Rooney family has always had a good relationship with Jerry Richardson. They've tended to view the Panthers almost like a sibling team.

It wouldn't surprise me to find out that the Rooneys are encouraging Tepper to buy the Panthers, perhaps because of their relationship to Jerry Richardson or because they believe it would be a good working relationship or any number of other reasons.

And of course, as far as the NFL goes, it tends to be true that if the Rooneys want something to happen, it probably will.

You my friend understand how this works. We know Jerry gets what he wants, if the Rooneys back him it's a wrap.

Obviously anyone left has the funds and if they don't want to pay a price they won't. But generally speaking if a current minority owner wants to buy a team they usually jump to the top. Tepper past on the Bills in 2014 at 1.1 billion so teams are only going to get more expensive

It's true that while we are a "hot item" right now, teams that will be going up for sale in the future are far more well-established than us.

I believe it's correct to say that the prices probably won't be going down.

It's not even about the highest price. Jerry has the final say, and I'm sure he would like to keep his legacy as in tact as possible. Going with Tepper, via the Rooney's seems like a way for him to maintain some sort of control over the situation, and pass his baby into like minded hands for the future.

    • Just another 1st round QB that never paid off for the team that drafted them or traded for them. It's been like this since the SB began. 36 QBs have now won the SB & only 13 of them have been 1st rounders winning with their original team. Namath 1968, Griese 1972, Bradshaw 1974, McMahon 1985, Simms 1986, Aikman 1992, Elway 1997, Roethlisberger 2005, P.Manning 2006, E.Manning 2007, Rodgers 2010, Flacco 2012, & Mahomes 2019. Only 3 have taken longer than 5 seasons as the starter to win a SB.  4  6  5  4  6  4  15  2  9  4  3  5  2 [the years it takes for these 1st round QBs] 5  1  4  1  3  1  1  2  3  4  [10 of the 36 have won a chip with their 1st team that haven't been drafted in the 1st round. These are the years it took them as a starter] What stands out? Only 2 of these QBs have lost their first championship appearance. Elway took 4 years as a 1st rounder & Hurts took 2 years as a 2nd rounder. Of the 10 non-1st round QBs, 2 are 2nd rounders, 3 are 3rd rounders, 5 are 6th rounders or later. Please stop wasting time on drafting 1st round QBs with such a high failure rate. The remaining 13 QBs are traded or free agent signings. Stafford, Favre, Young, Williams and Dawson are the 5 trades. Peyton Manning & Tom Brady also won for teams as free agents on a short stay as well as being drafted. The lesson here is don't waste your franchise on farming up 1st rounders for the league, and steer clear of trading for a franchise QB. Stick to finding that championship QB by drafting them outside of the 1st round or through free agency.
    • I lost most of the respect I had for Fox in 2010. He should have resigned if he hated the job that much. Instead he stuck for his paycheck and let stuff go to hell.    I burned out on Ron too but my deal breaker issue with him was away from football and after he was gone from the Panthers. He may have been out of his depth but never quit on us.
    • From where they were one year ago to now, pretty incredible. I mean, say what you want about Vrabel he is no Jerrod Mayo.
