Analysis: I grade Hughes as second-round talent, but he’s the type of player the Patriots get the most from.

 

24	Carolina Panthers
Derwin James		S	Florida State
Analysis: Carolina needs a lot of help in the secondary, and James is great value at this point.

 

25	Tennessee Titans
Isaiah Wynn		G	Georgia
Analysis: Running back is a consideration here, but considering the need to protect Marcus Mariota and the Titans’ zone-blocking scheme, Wynn makes the most sense.

 

26	Atlanta Falcons
Taven Bryan		DT	Florida
Analysis: The Falcons fill a need with a Dan Quinn-type of player.

 

27	New Orleans Saints
Courtland Sutton		WR	SMU
Analysis: Sutton is a quality receiver who performed better than expected at the combine. He possesses next-level size and pass-catching skills and will be a terrific pairing with Michael Thomas.

 

28	Pittsburgh Steelers
Lorenzo Carter		LB	Georgia
Analysis: Running back is a consideration but it’s time to move on from Bud Dupree, and Carter is everything the 2015 first-round pick never was.

Analysis: Austin Seferian-Jenkins was a terrific signing in free agency, but his career has run hot and cold. The Jags need pass catchers for Blake Bortles, and Gesicki is one of the best on the board.

Analysis: The Vikings fill a need with a potentially dominant player.

Not a fan of Hubbard in the 2nd but I don't even care if we end up with James at #24. Darwin James id my Stat Lotulelei this year. The guy I really want but don't think there's a chamce we can get. Hope this year works out the same way!

Makes sense at this point. Gotta think if it plays out like this then a cheap WR/TE/QB is in the works as a FA signing.

This has me thinking do any of the mockers ever post their success rates with these picks? If not at the exact pick, then within 2-4 spots?

One of the more appeasing, better mocks I’ve seen with us. I’m not a huge Hubbard fan but would be thrilled with James.

If we get James in the first I don't care who we draft in the 2nd.  We could draft a LS and I would still happy.  Actually I wouldn't be too upset over Hubbard, I could see him going earlier then that so it seems  like it would be good value.

This is what makes me nervous about Reid, I see a lot of variance in where he is listed.  There are other guys I consistently always see in that 20-30 range, not so much with Reid.  To my uneducated self he seems perfect for us but who knows.
