Build it on speedway property. Plenty of land. Good interstate and highway infrastructure already in place. Extend light rail a few mile north to new facility, Instant connection from pineville to speedway.

City already tried to make the light rail go that far but want concord/county to help pay and they said hell no.

only way that would happen if one of the smiths had became the owner and that didn’t happen

If the team builds this practice facility, you can be damn sure that is where training camp will be.  They would build a hotel or two on site just for this purpose.  They aren't going to spend all this money and not use it to generate revenue during July/August.

Looking at something like the VIkings built...holy crap.

Now if they could build this on the Eastland Mall site....but if they want to integrate an MLS stadium into the deal, that likely wouldn't be enough space for parking for 20k.

No one wants to drive out that way. South Carolina will offer better incentives than Charlotte and will be a much cheaper and expandable market.

Can't blame concord much. Light rails are expensive and they already get 99% of those people because of additional parking.

I said this in the other thread...

I wouldn't sleep on the idea of using the same land once rumored for a new stadium (in Fort Mill near Carowinds). The acreage is there, it is in SC, they will get huge tax incentives, and it is close enough to commute from Charlotte. I just don't see how that won't be the front runner for a practice facility/training camp location. Considering Rock Hill (10 minutes from Carowinds) is churning out so much NFL talent, I can see them using the facility for games, camps, and Cam's 7 on 7 tournament. Another option to keep an eye on is the area West of Charlotte between the airport and river. That will be the next Ballantyne.

Makes perfect sense and fulfills the "two states" idea.
