While the headline is eye catching - Goff says he would smash his coach's girlfriend...  i don't think thats the issue here, because depending on how McVay and Goff approach it, they may just see it as a sign of respect/appreciation for McVay's woman.  Like, "who wouldnt say that, coach?"  I thinkt he real issue that may cause problems with the team going forward here is the fact that Goff's text was leaked from a team group chat.  

And also, you never say something like that without some kind of caveat, like, "man, if she wasn't with McVay..."  oh well...
