I'm a little concerned with the Olsen targets. Defenses will be keying in on Olsen. We have WR options this year and should be using them. I'm not seeing any posts about Cam to Samuel and I'm seeing DJ more with the backup

No need to worry....we have a really good OC now.

Birth of Seymour son might explain his performance. I know I wasn't to focused at that point.

That may have been distracting. However, that performance was so bad that such a distraction is an unlikely culprit. It appeared to me that he was guessing and that he simply lacked the speed to make up for his consistent mistakes.....bad guesses. I hope I am wrong because such distractions fade while my diagnosis (guess) is a tad harder to overcome.

I just don’t get the Torrey Smith hate here, he’s a better deep threat then Ginn,... and younger,...

For my part, I've always supported the signing. The only thing that I've said that if it comes down to Funchess or Smith, then Smith has gotta go. I don't believe that it we're looking to trade him though, and I'm feeling a little better about Jackson and Munnerlyn being that Rivera feels a lot better about them. Not to mention that Washington is not only comfortable with Jackson as a week one starter, but Gaulden as well. We'll see in the coming weeks if their comfort level is justified. But at the moment it appears that our veteran receivers are very much safe.

Oh yeah, and @JARROD, I wouldn't necessarily say that Smith is a better deep threat than Ginn, especially as a Panther, but he does presumably have more years left to make the case.

He definitely has to prove himself as a Panther but with that being said,..

http://www.espn.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/14032/torrey-smith

http://www.espn.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/10453/ted-ginn-jr

Torrey has 10 more receiving touchdowns with 4 FOUR.. again FOUR less seasons(39 to 29 and has 16.4 yards per catch versus 14.0.)

Just by the yards per catch hes technically a better deep threat, ha.

And it should be noted that 10 of Ginns career touchdowns came in one season as Cams MVP season was rocking,...

30 of Torrey's 39 were in his first 4 seasons with Baltimore, as were most of his stats.  Since walking to garbage San Francisco at the time, and then not having a resurgence until the playoffs for Phili-- thanks to Nick Foles, a bigger down field thrower than Wentz.

Now hes in Carolina with a big downfield arm.

What happens next is any ones guess-- but I am calling 800 yards + or - 50 and 8 touchdowns + or - 1.

Yeah it was a absolutely terrible showing no matter how you spin it.

Haynes played in all 4 quarters against Buffalo and now he's getting 1st string reps.  Is that a bad sign on how the staff feels about Hall?

I choose to look at as the staff being more impressed with Haynes than let down by Hall. For all intents and purposes, they're both rookies and Haynes' speed makes him flashier.

Seymour is a practice squad player. It showed. The fact he's considered for starting really falls on Hurney. Get someone in here that is at least six foot tall.

    • I don't necessarily think he will be moved, I would currently be leaning against that notion. I think a lot will depend on the coaching situation. Carroll certainly can't be thinking about wanting to go through a serious strip down and overhaul, so the longer he plans to remain, the less likely I think Crosby gets moved.
    • I think everyone says Mike Evans because of size, but really they have different strengths and play styles.  Tmac is better on intermediate routes and not nearly as good at contested catches.
    • At this point, it is criminal to go into the 2026 training camp/OTA's with XL penciled in as a #2 WR. The team must upgrade, either through free agency or the draft. If he cannot give 100% effort on significantly less snaps as a #4-6 WR(players like Tremayne have done that consistently) then I don't think you have a player worth rostering beyond the trade deadline. Offensively, we eventually have to upgrade to an NFL starting caliber C. It's been almost the length of time from Gross to Ikey since Kalil retired and we have below average to terrible C play. Love Mays as a BC-esque utility backup but he will never be an above average long term starting C.  The TE room is one of the worst in the NFL but it's a low usage position in this offense, so the investments are likely to be small, if any. I would never expect to see an elite TE in a Dave Canales offense. 100% agree on OL depth. We actually aren't bad there but BC will be gone, Mays is a UFA, Corbett is a UFA and Zavala has been both injured and bad. We have to bolster that depth again or resign guys like Mays and Corbett to keep that depth somewhat stable.
