What she really meant by that was, "Ron, what do you expect out of the back-up Linebackers this season?" you know, because being direct is an issue at times.

Chase Blackburn is the ST coordinator. Her inquiry was about Chase and his coaching style, not the players.

no comment on how young or attractive Person is?  Noone else gonna comment on how this is such a sexist and misogynistic comment?  Don't you know man you are not allowed to speak about women about their looks or personality in regards to their profession? Its almost like you are saying you think its cute when a female reporter talks about "routes".  Foul sir.

I see what you did there...

BTW, just for shits and giggles, I went back to watch the last interview with Ron at camp. Either Joe wasn't there or he asked zero questions. But there was a question asked by Jourdan that struck me as insightful: she began by saying that many players even outside the organization had commented that Ron paid a lot of individual attention to his players and said that seemed to be something Chase Blackburn was emulating and finally asked Ron if he saw a little of himself in Chase.

That is brilliantly done. It's a simple yes/no question, but the fact that she boosted Ron's ego made Ron want to talk about it, so he did...and he said way more than she probably expected. Whether that was her doing that on purpose or not, it worked beautifully. And it stood in stark contrast to Person's typical question which reads or sounds like he googled, "questions to ask football coaches or players."

This lady is good at her job. The best beat writer that we've had since Bill Voth was doing Black and Blue Review. It's part of the reason I think Cam was legitimately surprised at how knowledgeable she is when he made his comments last season (he's never been accused of being a wordsmith).

The bar was pretty low with Person and David Newton, and she has obliterated it with her knowledge of the rosters, inciteful questions (like McBarky referenced), and her personality (see the Riot podcasts).

Jordan asks Relevant questions and a dually gives a crap.  My be we won't have to hear Person ask "Sorry if you covered this already" and repeat a question he already answered.  At least I always associated that with Joe.

Glad to keep Jordan.

Can we get rid of David Newton???  He drives me crazy!!!! And if I see one more tweet about his damn dog I'm gonna puke.

Hope Joe finds work he likes and provides well for his family.

This. He's a terrible reporter. Like, if The Onion was going to spoof a sports reporter, the couldn't do any better job than Joe Person already does of doing that. But, I wish the man and his family all the best.

    • I’m old enough to remember when I wanted to draft Njoku We brought back Mitchell and officially kept Tremble. Mitchell Evans isn’t going anywhere. Sanders who knows, he was awful last year I fully agree we need a better TE. This room is awful Njoku would be a massive help in the red zone. However it really seems like Dan and the FO prefer to go young on offense
    • You’re underselling Loveland imo. He’s so damn good. You can line him out wide and count on him to win 1 v 1. I don’t see that from Sadiq. Loveland is going to go over 1000 yards next season I’m not overly asking for a WR3. It’s just one of the few directions Morgan could go in round 1.  Let’s say Thieneman, Fano and Cooper are all on the board it’s a tough decision. I just don’t see how this team would take Sadiq over some of those guys given the way they run their offense. Our tight end room is easily bottom of the league so I can definitely see why someone would want a tight end though. At one point during the season I was on the Sadiq train as well. I just don’t think value wise for us specifically it makes sense given our team as a whole As far as tight ends go in this draft I really like Max Klare. Very smooth mover
    • Some of you need some serious help with the way 9 lives rent free in your heads I know for a fact, Dan loves Bryce. Bryce is his guy. This offense is very young and they’re asking Bryce to do a lot. With Idzik taking over playcalling duties it’s a move that is another step in the process of Bryce taking control of the offense. 24 years old. This youth movement on offense and putting more on 9’s shoulders is going to pay off in the long run
