2018 NFL Predictions

Offensive Rookie of the Year: D.J. Moore

He is a plug-and-play playmaker in what I anticipate will be a dynamic offense in Carolina. He is learning three receiver positions on the fly, so his speed of thought will have to catch up to his speed of play, but I don't think it will take very long. Cam Newton already trusts him, and he can be explosive in the slot and on the outside and will see plenty of run-after-the-catch with him, too.

While I love Moore, I don't think he will be a "serious" RoY contender, and that isn't a slight against him.  I think he will put up good numbers.  I just think Cam will have plenty of weapons that the Panthers will not have to rely on Moore enough to get RoY numbers.

Cam being Cam (running it himself, even if they are trying to move away from it), Funchess, CMC, CJ Anderson, the rest of the WR corp that is amazing for a Panthers team...

I just think the numbers will be too split up between the targets for Moore to have a RoY season, numbers wise.  And this is not a bad thing.

I definitely hope he is, but o seriously doubt it. RBs probably have the easiest transition to the NFL of all positions and one of the best RB prospects in recent memory was in this last draft and then you have to consider that QBs get all the glory and that there will likely be 2-3 rookie QBs starting this year.

Just now, Cracka McNasty said:

I really don't see it happening. I don't think there are enough touches to go around.

Agreed

He did look Real good in camp then in game 1 as well.  Had some people buzzing around here even igo, saying they thought he'd end up being our leading WR this year.

Then the last 3 games, he's disappeared.

Meanwhile Samuel has looked like a Stud, Funchess is still Funchess.  Wright is going to get his catches "mr 3rd down".  Olsen is still among the best TEs and will get catches, as will Thomas.  Ron wants to get CMC the ball a Ton.  Smith has looked baaaad but Ron will keep him on the field until he gets hurt just because he's a "vet"

Just no Footballs to go around to him to get those big #s

    • I mean, no I’m not going to panic when he got 2 Qs and looked great in 1 and looked not great in another (let’s not mention the drop).    Yeah we finally have a team that would be considered average offensively around him. Let’s roll this season.
    • The woe is me everything but Bryce sucks mantra is stale af my friend. Look nobody here is going to argue with the fact Frank Reich was not a good head coach. At the same time. Bryce Young is now in his second season with his second coaching staff and a handpicked young offensive head coach who has been known for working with QB's such as Baker and Geno. As far as the offensive pieces around Bryce we have the 4th highest salary cap allocation (that might be even higher now after the new Moton deal) dedicated to the OL in the entire league. We have 2 first round WR's one of them 8th overall the first time we've ever selected a WR that high in franchise history. And the fact of the matter is Bryce Young did not have a good preseason. It's not the first time it's happened either. We all hope to see he and the rest of the team flip a switch in week 1. But we should all be able to agree that the offensive performances we've seen from the entire QB room (Bryce included) in preseason was simply unacceptable.
    • We have seen Bryce play… what… 9 games with AT BEST what one would consider NFL average WRs? You just can’t see the forest for the trees and keep going back to your lazy take of revisionist history.    he looked AWFUL Y1 with the worst coaching I’ve ever seen in the NFL and one of the weakest WR rooms I can recall. He looked awful first half of y2 and great second half of y2 with average coaching and average skill position. I don’t know where this elite talent argument even comes from.
