Looks like Chris Manhertz made the team

Was annoyed to read this as keeping him on the PUP seemed such an easy way to get a little more roster room for 6 weeks while we figure out the Oline mess.

But not that surprised, sadly. We pretty much always keep 3 TEs on the 53 and behind Olsen and Ian Thomas there weren't any obvious options. One can argue that because of our Oline situation extra TE help is important and Thomas is a rookie.

But given that Manhertz hasn't practiced in 2 months it's hard to believe he's gonna be ready week 1.

This will probably cost Byrd, Barner or CAP a roster spot. Sigh...

WE DONT NEED 3 TIGHT ENDS--JUST USE ARMAH AS THE UTILITY FB/TE.

if this keeps a player like Byrd or Doss off the team im gonna be pissed

my thoughts exactly. Someone else is going to get cut for the spot he just took

    • I don’t know about floor in a team defense sense but we needed more.  The floor that I am familiar with is our QBs floor and it is so low that every other part of the team needs to be beefed up.     We tried our best to improve these things and I think we did improve the defense and we at least kept the offense  from sinking from no LT.  And ostensibly helped the receivers too.   So we kept a window open that we at least have a chance to improve our record by a game of two.  Which would probably give us the division.

    • Yeah. I am one of. those who think a JAG RB can eat with really good blocking. (Brooks is most important in my mind, in tbe passing game and that is what we’ll lose without him)  There are a lot of aspects to this. The big one that caused us to struggle is Young and his arm scared no one.  Best back, best blocking still cannot defeat a really good defense if they are not forced to respect the pass.  And teams did not.    But, a strong OL and running game Can get us over against weaker defenses.  And if Bryce still doesn’t scare anyone we can still win some games. Like last year  So it is really important to tend to that OL.   Get that straight and see if in his fourth year he can finally back defenses off. That is what if is all about this year to me, on the Bryce front.
