Russell Wilson is no Cam Newton

Tonight, Russell Wilson is getting a taste of the medicine that Cam has had to swallow for years. No pocket, no time, no legitimate weapons on the outside. No help. Only thing is, Cam still looks like a mother fuging beast under the same circumstances. I wish this entire fan base understood how fortunate we are to watch Cam Newton play football. With Cam under center, you know we have a fighting chance any given Sunday. Can you imagine if Cam had a game like this? The media would be lining up for miles to pile on the he’s no good narrative. So glad Cam Newton is my quarterback. Keep Pounding.

I get that the raiders got a couple first round picks for Mack but holy crap that trade is going to go down as one of the worst trades in NFL history especially if the Raiders don’t hit home runs with their acquired picks. Mack basically has defensive player of the year locked up the second week of the season.

Russel Wilson has been one of the luckiest players I have ever seen play the game of football. For some reason analysts just chalk it up to him being a "gamer". No there is nothing inherently good about narrowly avoiding sacks because you held onto the ball too long, running 20 yards backfield, miraculously avoiding getting sacked then just chucking the ball up and praying for a miracle catch which happens more often than not.

Sorry I know there is a lot of pack fans on here who love him, but god damn he is so overrated.

    • So we cut him if we don't give him the option?  I'm pretty sure there are players who didn't get the 5th-year option that played year four of their rookie contracts with their draft team.
    • I didn't say do nothing if we don't draft one in the 1st and I"m not counting on a FA to magically become a franchise QB. But signing a FA to be our starter for the year and then re-address the next offseason would be FAR better than reaching on the wrong QB in the 1st this offseason. Feeling we HAVE to find our long term solution just because we need a new QB is how we got into this mess.  We thought Two Gloves would be at worst an average level QB for a few years, that didn't happen, so we went out and traded for Darnold.  That didn't work so we went out and traded for Baker, that didn't work so we went out and traded up to get Bryce. Our last 4 QB moves were all trying to force a solution, none of them worked out, and we're still trying to find Cam's replacement all these years later.  We'd just have been better off spending a year or two building up the rest of the team and going year to year on FA QB's while doing so.  I get it, it will be frustrating to deal with, but then when you find that actual long term solution, they plug right into an already built out roster and you're ready to contend immediately.
    • Great win, should be 3-0 but I'll take 2-1. LaMelo is an MVP caliber player, period.   This is looking like an incredible draft so far. Sion James looking like the exact type of role player that all contending teams need to have, absolute steal in the 2nd. Kalk is a work in progress and I question how much upside he has but he's already been a considerable upgrade at C for us compared to the last several years (outside of healthy Mark which of course was rare).   Really seems like new ownership/front office has change the culture here significantly. Every guy looks bought in now.
