Opinions...will they break down and sign a decent safety

It looks like he was able to get the personnel to shore up the O-line and Obada seemed to put some life into the D-line... CBs are looking as good as they have in a couple of years. TD is almost back on the field (and we obviously need him). TEs are looking like better than I thought with Olsen out. Kicking game is solid. Running backs are just great. QB looks like Superman again.

Yeah, I'd say Marty has the luxury right now to address the safety spot during the bye week.

Short answer no.

Long answer     nnnnnnnoooooooooooooooooooooooo

Eric Reid sitting on couch watching the Young and Restless waiting to see if  Traci is going to do an intervention on Billy

Mike Mitchell carpooling kids to school and picking up the cupcakes for the class birthday party.

Yet Collin Jones playing important minutes....

According to Rivera's presser this morning, he put no blame on Jones but rather he had time to throw. The entire second half he keyed in on Jones. Jones doesn't look for the ball at all. Granted i thought he came up with the interception on that one play. He shouldn't be back there at all.

It'd be nice. Searcy was done before he got here and Gaulden just switched positions this offseason. Quinten Demps (33), Mike Mitchell (31), Ron Parker (31), Steven Terrell (27), Jairus Byrd (31), Eddie Pleasant (29), Chris Prosinski (31), Darius Butler (32), Nate Allen (30), Colt Anderson (32), Robert Golden (28), Keith McGill (29), Antone Exum (27), and a few more are the only FAs available per Walter Football. So it's basically "pick your poison" along with whether or not the player fits the scheme.

In this case, I'm 90% on Rivera's side.

The 10% is, yes, Jones is not a good player.

The 90% is even Josh Norman can't cover a receiver when the QB is given 6-7 seconds to throw the ball.

    • I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.
    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
    • According to Scott Fowler, in an article about former Panthers announcer applying for a job with the Ravens... what that job pays, incidentally, when the Ravens posted it publicly they said the salary would be $4,000 to $5,000 per game. An NFL season consists of 20-24 games, including the preseason and potential playoff games, so it will end up somewhere between $80,000 and $120,000 a year. The person hired will be an independent contractor, which is commonplace in the NFL these days for team broadcasters, and also have other radio and TV hosting assignments.  https://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article315839800.html
