He will be able to shine behind our front 7 (when TD gets back), and along side Bradberry and Jackson. He is much better in coverage than Jones, and is an immediate upgrade.

Eric Reid will thrive behind our front seven plus he's literally twice the safety as anyone else on the roster that entered camp.

We were already Top 5 before this signing and we just addressed our biggest need with a fringe Pro Bowler. So yeah, definitely.

Eric Reid could be the best safety this team has had in a long time.    He's a top 10 safety easily.     The person he lost his job too just happens to be like a top 5 safety.     And no doubt the protests were factored in as well.    We haven't had an actual good coverage safety in..... honestly I can't even remember.

We also get a guy who I'd assume is going to want to prove himself really hard to the league.

And on this take, which I'm sure there will be many of, is fuging dumb. This is a pretty unique situation, and pretending Gettleman wouldn't have jumped on it too is delusional. I didn't dare to hope before, but after Tepper's comments about kneeling players, it's surprising it even took this long.

He's not a top 5 safety or anything, but he is a top 20 safety, and way better than anyone currently on the roster, thus he represents a huge upgrade, and plenty of cause for optimism.  I think he makes the secondary much less of a weakness, and will help shut down the middle of the field where our defense has been getting absolutely shredded.

Between Cam, Olsen, Turner, Ryan Kalil, Pep, KK, Poe, TD, Luke, Reid, and Mike Adams; we'll have a full 50% of our starters as former Pro Bowlers.

He wasn't bad at all, what are you talking about? He lost his job because he got injured and the backup stepped in and became a top safety. He had a strong season despite a new head coach and being shuffled around on defense.

Exactly.    He's still a top 10 safety and like 26.
