Yeah I mean, on 3rd down it was obvious the safety was playing man on Olsen. That’s a layup 9 times out of 10. Also the LB was on CMC I believe? Literally the worst choice was heaving it to Funchess.

See, this is what chaps my hide about those last two plays.  First down made complete sense to me.  CMC was open, and the ball in his hands anywhere in the red zone is something I want us to make every effort to facilitate.  The second down shot into the end zone was probably a great call too.  With only five yards to go, plenty of timeouts and time remaining, it was completely justified.

I even understand how Norv may have thought that attacking the same area again on third down might be beneficial.  However . . .

If your pre-snap read says that CMC is man up on a LB you take that option 10/10 times.  That to me was the decision that stood out as most terrible.

brady would had picked up the 5 yards and live to fight another series of down.

Cam went for the td twice on that set of downs and that was not a good idea ause even if he hits christian on that pass it was too much time left and redskins would had gotten in field goal range to beat us so Cam should of just went for the first down and eat more clock before we score.

But there were times where both Brady and Rodgers couldn't pick up five yards and threw picks to end the game against us.  It happens to everyone.  Maybe Brady would've got the five and maybe not, but there have been times in his career that he didn't and the Patriots lost the game.

Here's what I saw:

1st down completion to CMC;

2nd down overthrow to open CMC in end zone;

3rd down overthrow to covered Funchess in end zone and didn't look at Olsen or CMC that were open;

4th down overthrow to covered Wright and Cam didn't look at any other receivers.

Game over.

But because of what I noted above, I think it was already decided that pass was headed for the end zone no matter who else was open (for the record, Funchess wasn't) before the ball was even snapped.  .......

For me this was the biggest mistake and why so frustrating.

2nd down play was a good playpall imo. with 2 timeouts Redskins were playing for a short pass and timeout with 47 secs left. It was a great play call just the a little over thrown. I really thought we were going to win this game. The way we were moving the ball was flawless. Cam was on point on every throw but the redskins killed us with T.O.P. throughout the whole game.

Cam should have hit cmac for the td

If that had been a touchdown ,we would have lost the game .

Plenty of time for Washington to get in field goal range ,with us playing a soft zone.

It was explained to me that situation and scheme were the reasons why Curtis Samuel barely played :thinking:

We have the horses but not the smarts that’s the bottom line. Criminal that Samuel was not in there 70% of snaps. Stupid not to make a first down with 3 chances to make first down. Blame our coaches and some on cam

Cam is 1 ahead of Aaron Rodgers, and within 4-4th quarter comebacks to be tied with the top 20 all time,..

hes been playing since 2011, thrown a hell of a lot of yards and touchdowns, hits progresssions, 4th quarter comebacks and passes pretty darn good,..

but people go back to the running thing every time,..

we just have a bad system fit for Cam— Shula and Norv are just too stiff and slow. He still gets comeback wins, has some impressive 4th quarter stats that people discard when it doesn’t fit their narrative(black quarterback)

Cam won’t really or ever flourish into all he can be until we get a Fast paced smooth playcaller in like a Pederson or someone.

Prior to the disaster plays of 2nd-and-5, 3rd-and-5, and 4th-and-5, Cam had completed 17 of 20 passes in the desperation 2nd half, because Ron "Treebeard" Rivera ("Let us not be hasty!") would rather run clock or punt than score

    Not one person in this thread has brought up the fact that on both 3rd, and 4th downs, Cam was getting pressured. It was one read, and throw it. He had no time to scan the field. But I guess that fact doesn't fit the narrative.

    Also, LOL at folks just knowing that even if we score, we would wind up losing. Ya gotta love folks that can be absolutely positive about future events.
