Honestly, in my opinion, Luke Kuechly is the most disappointing player on this entire roster.  He has gone from being all-universe, to literally one of the worst defensive players on the team in just one season.  He looks completely lost, misses tackles left and right, a liability in coverage, gets manhandled on blitzes... I mean what the hell happened?

That’s what I have been wondering. Hope those concussions didn’t take a toll. Something is not right at all with him. The way he tackles, angles etc

Oh, for sure.

Every other QB in the NFL makes that throw in that situation.  Only Cam misses it.  This we know.

Are you sure you were watching the same play?  No defensive lineman had their hands up in Cams face.  I heard people talking about that here, so I went back and watched.  There were no hands up and no hands in his face.  Cam just missed the throw.  His feet wernt set, and he threw off his back foot, which caused the pass to sail high and outside.  Its not a mystery.

This fanbase doesn’t deserve QB1

No we deserve Cam, Cam doesnt deserve some of these fans.  I think the Majority of the fan base understands how much cam has given this franchise.  Same old idiots spewing the same old narative.

What confuses me about people saying he over threw Wright on the two point conversion is the fact that wright adjusted the route to get open and Cam had the throw over the DT and get it to wright without it being batted down which isn’t too easy to do the only thing i will say about cam is in this game he didn’t try to run for it like he usually did and cost us a few easy first downs and the two point conversion but honestly he probably didn’t because our o line has been figured out and he’s getting hit constantly now

I keep seeing a ton of threads and posts deriding Cam regarding his accuracy, why "he keeps overthrowing recievers," and "fans" trying to get other fans to see things their way and blame him for our issues today...  He missed the throw on the two-point conversion.  Ok, got it.  But, his accuracy on the season was good for 6th in the league coming into this week, ahead of guys like Goff and Mahomes.  Furthermore, that 67.5 completion percentage today would've been higher than 75% had Funchess not dropped 4 or 5 perfectly thrown balls.  But, I don't see threads complaining about Funchess and why he played like a fuging bum who shouldn't be starting...  Luke was a huge reason why Kerryon Johnson was averaging over 8 ypc before being injured, but I don't see entire threads of people complaining and saying it's time to move on from him.  Gano had the worst day I believe a kicker has ever had in our franchise history, and aside from being mentioned to defend Cam's last throw, I don't see threads and innumerable posts saying how we need a new kicker.  And yet, without those guys setting the table they did with their horrible day, Cam is never put in the position to be forced to make that throw in a completely vanilla, non-creative play call against max coverage on a "chips all in" two-point conversion.

I'd just like to point out, again, that Cam put up a Top 5, league-MVP-contending performance with today's stat line.  Without Cam, we're never in that game, or any game.  And as most GOOD coaches would usually remind you after a game like that, a game never comes down to one play...  but, the subpar coach we are stuck with just blames it on Cam, because it's easier than being accountable for your team inexcusably showing up completely uninspired and unprepared two games in a row.

Gano was atrocious, Luke and the front four were just as bad, Bradberry was horrible, and Funchess better hope there's a hot market for a receiver with poor conditioning, habitual cramps, and hands of stone, because he is too inconsistent to ever garner real receiver money and I hope we don't bring him back.  Not to mention, this is the 4th game this season that the team came out completely lackadaisical and lost against a far lesser team on paper who was already without two of their better players coming in...  and coincidentally enough, this is the 3rd game this season where the opponent was supposedly extremely disadvantaged due to injuries coming in...  Atlanta lost Neal and Jones, Washington was without Thompson and Crowder.

There is a countless confluence of factors as to why this team sucks and why we lost today, and literally none of them are Cam or the pass he missed.  Place some blame on the actual culprits who put us in the position to need to go for two points in the first place...  there are plenty to choose from.  Thanks.

Hallelujah! Thanks for using your noggin.

it's just like 2011 when olindo mare couldn't hit water kicking the ball in the ocean in a clutch situation and the defense couldn't stop anybody.  cam would pass for 350ish and 3 TDs or so and the huddle "objective fans" would be laser focused on that one high pass or interception he threw.

So much this. I would pie this again if I could.

It's baffling that our own fans are still behaving this way so many years later after watching Cam put his body on the line for the team season after season.

Cam needs to make that throw. He would tell you the same. But this defense man. I don’t care if they only gave up 21 points they did it in embarrassing fashion and in horrible situations.

There needs to be a thread and more people talking about what the hell is going on with Luke. Like I said in the game day thread, I never thought I would say this but Luke is playing like a pussy. I question his  toughness. I know he is out of sorts with this defense and the front four playing like garbage but that third down play where he looked like he didn’t even wanna tackle the receiver was mind boggling. I’m not sure if concussion history is at play or if he’s playing injured or what is going on. But If his play this season is indicative of what’s to come for the rest of his a career we need to see if we can trade him this offseason for pick(s). And start a rebuild of this defense starting with beefing up the talent in the secondary because of the new nfl rules.

i do not say any of this lightly, I know how special Luke is/was.

Just think what it would have been if funchess didn't keep dropping the ball. The dude was as a drive killer. Cam's biggest fault that game was that he had too much faith in funchess that I hope he's learning to place elsewhere.

Funchess and Gano cost us that game.

That's the thing. Even homers like me agree he has to make that throw. But there's soooooo much more to it from that game than just that one moment.

Is it that or is it more likely there are issues between defensive players, and the staff? From my perspective the lack of intensity is either like you said suddenly some of our top players either became pussies or they aren't buying into the gameplan anymore. My personal opinion, I think a rift has developed between a number of players on the defense and the coaching staff.

Tbh I think more folks here should dig a little deeper into the dynamic that happened with CJ Anderson. I'm really beginning to think that was some sort of warped message from Ron to the team. You see what Rivera said about Cam at the end of the game. This is the same guy that benched Newton over a tie. He's had a penchant for trying to show his authority over the years. If my suspicions are correct, none of this is going to improve this season. We will have to wait until the offseason to see what shakes out. But if this is the case, Rivera needs to be replaced.

Holding a team less than 21 pts is a win in the NFL for any defense. It’s pathetic that the offense couldn’t put up points when the defense gives you the ball multiple times, of course it’s gonna wear down with constant 3 and outs.

Gano couldn't put up points, if he makes a field goal, XP then we don't go for 2 at the end, and we take a 4 point lead with 1 minute to go.  Complete waste of a roster spot.
