What’s really crazy and boggles the mind is that if what we wanted to happen (Gano hits the 52-yd FG) actually did happen, we STILL probably lose. Think about that. What we attempted to execute at the end of the game, most likely wouldn’t have won the game anyway. Seattle had a ton of time left to get down field against a weak secondary.

That, my friends, is why Rivera got to go.

My exact thoughts.  He just isn't fast enough mentally to be the head coach.

Same scenario as last week. You played to get into field goal range and barely his field goal range instead of playing to get first downs and killing clock.

EXACTLY this.

I even said in the game thread, it didn't matter if we made the FG or not, Wilson would have just waltz down the field and scored a TD against this trash defense. The fact Ron played for a long ass FG after Cam was lighting them up all game, and while it doesn't even guarantee you the win is why his ass needs to be gone by tomorrow. Terrible fuggin game knowledge, which has been typical of him his whole tenure here.

As long as we have a shot to possibly make the playoffs Tepper isn’t firing anyone. Replacing Ron with Norv or anyone else here does nothing but guarantee we lose every game left.

You won't have to worry about that, we're most likely losing every game left regardless.

Yup, that stood out to me, especially after he was praised by some fans for "going for the win" last week. That was loser ball, from a loser coach with a loser mentality.

Can't even blame Gano, his coach basically told him last week he couldn't trust him to make a PAT. I'm sure that was on his mind when he went out there today.

I came here to post what you guys said.  Ron should have been looking for any opportunity to keep the Captain Munnerlyn off the field, i.e. picking up more first downs.  Its like he thinks he has the 85 Bears back there.  This reminds me of the Buffalo game in 2013 that almost got him canned.

He shouldn't be here next week. Fire him now and just get it over with. They literally cannot do worse at this point.

I'd take Scott Turner as the HC for the rest of the year.

I'd take Brady Hoke as HC for the rest of the year.

I'd take a 'See-and-Say' that is still programmed to make animal sounds as HC for the rest of the year. Just not Ron.

pie for the "See-and-Say". Maybe he should just make one and take it to press conferences.
Pull string and say "missed opportunities"

Pull string and say "they get paid to play too" . . .

Nice to see others recognize this. Best case scenario, even if Gano hits it, is overtime.

Years ago at Buffalo, he played conservatively to kick a fg to go up 6 with plenty of time left.

We lost and I railed against his terrible decision making.  He's still the same impotent man.
