Denial of what?  I think this team stinks right now but I will never give up hope.

I agree with you NAS. I hope for that as well. I think we could put together a drive into Super Bowl territory and would be such a nice thing to see winning adjustments propel us into post season.

life is better lived in the positive with a healthy sense of accepting whatever outcome occurs when things are beyond your personal control.

Right now this team doesn't feel like a playoff team, but I really hope it happens.  Like I said a couple weeks ago, I wait too long to see this team lose.

I am with you. Right now , it doesn’t look to well but if this team can find that fire to put a string of wins together who knows what can happen. It’s never over until it’s over.  Will it happen? Who knows. It’s up to that coaching staff and players to find motivation. They need to play with fire and not just go through the motions. We can do it. 

 

A side note: Cam has been in a 9 (?) game streak throwing for two or more tds per game during that span. Franchise record. If we can get the D to create turnovers, great things can happen

Past seasons I’ve been down for tanking, especially last season, but after watching Cam drop dimes in the dome in last years playoffs, I think we will always have a chance in he playoffs.

Our defense might be worse, but Cam isn’t throwing to dogshit recievers this year. That game coulda looked a lot different without all the drops we had.

That being said unless it results in a super bowl victory, RR needs to be gone. Personally, I wanted him fired already, because he brings absolutely nothing to this football team.

The problem is Rivera will always want him and his defense to get a brunt of the credit so he’s never gonna fully unleash Cam and this offense.

 

The thought of having a team that’s winning solely because of the offense scares Ron.

The thought of us reeling off five straight wins and going into the playoffs as the hottest team in the NFC appeals to just about everyone on here. So does winning the lottery but we aren't making threads about it.

This^^^  What is creating such a grim, doubtful feeling is that no one has faith in our defense right now; the team has no fire or passion on that side of the ball. When you look back at the 2015 defense, those guys were creating turnovers, being disruptive and just hustled all over the field. They were a tight-knit group and they flowed well together. This defense is just way out of sorts, no one seems to want to step up and make big plays in big moments. At times they just look confused and out of place, which points directly at coaching. Even with bad coaching though, there is still a core group of guys there that have been playing together for a while now, and could still step up in crucial moments, but it's not happening. 

The defense is playing uninspired, someone needs to create a spark and get some fire in these guys. I think the offense has the ability and potential, but If the defense can not play opportunistic, situational football, then I just don't see the Panthers making any kind of a run. I think that's what a lot of people are seeing.

You are right.  Of course the team plays to win and we are still the same team who was 6-2 earlier that was considered a threat in the NFC.
