PSA! We need pass rushers!

You watching the Cowboys Saints game... See the key to beating a team like the Saints? Get pressure on Brees. We need a pass rush in the worst way it is the key to beating these high potent offenses like the Saints/Rams/Chiefs/Steelers etc...

Once you kill the head of the snake (QB) those other weapons can't get off. This is why we need to load up on pass rushers in this draft. 1st and 2nd round picks should be both used on edge rushers. Hopefully our GM is smart and realize this is how you win in todays NFL. DB's mean nothing if you cant get to the QB.

Pretty sure we could have HOFers at each spot on the dline - it wouldn't do any good against NO's quick pass offense when our secondary plays 10 yards off the receivers

This. 2 second releases are impossible to sack

So what do we do just give up until Brees retire? This fanbase baffles me at times. This is a loser mentality. The Saints can be beat, we almost beat them last year in the playoffs in the dome. Remember that?

If only Funchess knew how to attack the ball instead of getting manhandled.

Why did I post this thread. You guys sound depressed and defeated. All I hear is we can't do this it's impossible. Yes we can we just have to do it. You guys can give up on this team if you want. We still have talent on this team especially on offense. If we can get a spark on the Dline and get pressure on the QB, we are still a top team in this league. Stop non believe and Believe!

I get ur optimism. But after these last 3 performances with no end in sight and no help coming in, you can see why a lot of the base has packed it in. They need need change or a win to be motivated again. Losing on bad 4th down decisions takes a lot out of a person. When you see something with so much potential fail... hurts

Step back a little, I never said give up, I’m just saying no matter how good the DL is you can’t get a sack in 2 seconds, at least consistently. We need to stop sagging off in coverage every play and that will help the DL out a bunch. No loser here, let me know when you find one.

We definitely need to bring in some pass rushers. I haven’t seen the class of DEs coming out so I’m not sure how deep it will be in the draft. I just don’t want us to draft just to draft a DE. If a gem is there, get him but don’t want to reach. Hopefully we can sign a solid free agent too. I still believe in this team and I say we win out and sneak into the playoffs.

Pass rushers makes everything else on defense look better.  It’s the second most important position group on the team.

I agree! I remember the super bowl run in 03. We had Howard and Cousins back there in the secondary but our line was a beast and made the whole defense as a whole look great

Jamming the receiver at the LOS gives your pass rush a second or two more to get there.

Our last pass rusher to even touch Drew Brees was back in 2013. Since then Drew has been setting fire to our defenses.

I miss how GH used to terrorize Drew Brees. I really thought he was going to hurt the guy. He twisted him up like no other...

Unless you draft the #1, #2(maybe) DE out of college you've got to expect a 2-3 year learning curve and physical maturation.

Free agent DE's never come cheap. It's the second most important position on the field.

    • No poo tho you might could Jenkins for Legette. They got nothing at WR after the big 2 in Cincy. I don’t think you trade away OL depth. Could get a quality player in cuts. Really that 3-4 end spot what you should be looking for is someone who is stout with long arms and can push back the OL in both the run and pass game for others to make plays…. But we signed Wharton, sometimes I think Evero is a fraud ass nerd who should be an analyst at best.
    • you would honestly probably do Monroe Freeling more of a disservice by putting him in a position where is not yet ready to succeed. .we all knew Monroe Freeling struggled at the NFL combine in drills because of technique related issues & would need time to develop  & now all of a sudden before they even put the pads on Monroe Freeling is somehow a starting LT in the NFL ? if he struggled at the NFL scouting combine what do you actually think is going to happen in a live NFL game at LT ? .even our best LT of all time was not ready to start at LT when he was a rookie & he turned out to be a pretty good darn LT by the name of Jordan Gross ...just saying be patient Young Jedis
    • well i could go on & on but i will just highlight it by saying big difference trust me from the SEC & NFL.it's honestly like comparing apples & oranges especially when you are talking about a  LT. in the NFL you are going up against the most athletic freaks of nature the world has to offer . .the NFL also has much more exotic & complicated defensive schemes than what they are used to seeing at Georgis &  finally but most importantly you have to learn how to master complex bio mechanics where the body kick steps instantly as a reaction to these world class athletes rush without really making a conscious effort it's more of a learned muscle memory  & it can take thousands upon thousands of reps to master rproper technique for a LT in the NFL especially if you are still very raw like Monroe Freeling is    ...just saying
