KK Short not suited at practice

Did Amini Silatolu just suddenly get badly injured or did they need a roster spot to bring someone else on board?

This time of year, probably more than half the roster has some kind of injury. Most of them don't need IR, but it's an option and GMs have s lot of discretion.

One thing you'll notice about years when Marty Hurney was GM. In down years, there sure seem to be a decent number of people on injured reserve. Igo's mentioned it too. Makes an awfully convenient excuse for a failed season.

Now, you can respond by telling me how great Marty is despite the fact that his winning percentage is terrible if you want, but I'm not really interested in that bullsh-t today.

I said good player. Putting Amini on IR won't give Hurney sympathy points.

Putting KK Short on there sure would..

In reality though, there could be any number of reasons why Short's not out at practice. Until we hear something, it's just kibitzing.

How about instead of mindlessly quipping about Butler doing something we all know he won't, you actually hold the FO accountable for drafting him in the first place on top of giving guys like KK Short and Matt Kalil terrible contracts that are destroying our salary cap while we back our way into another losing season.

Luxury picks, and bad contracts blowing up in our faces are why we are currently in this predicament. We've been freefalling since 2016 after being the first team in NFL history to go from 15 wins to 6 in just one offseason.

Gettleman’s draft picks are looking pretty bad save for a few hits. Makes you wonder what scouts are still with the team and how much Rivera went along with what was ultimately Gettleman’s decisions. 

 

Edit: not to say Short was a bad pick. By all accounts Short has been a consistent top ten lineman who is obviously having a crap season.

I think Gettleman listened to scouts, but he saw what he saw and made decisions. Ron couldn't say poo cause his ass was about to be fired. We go to the playoffs once Gettleman takes over so the dick jerking of Gettleman takes over and Gettleman head inflates. Do I fault Ron? Yes I do, you're the fuging head coach. There's supposed to be some compromise, but speak the fug up. I'll never fuging forget 2016 draft after Josh, we double dipped on corners in 2 and 3 and Gettleman just pranced around the draft room smiling like he's so much smarter than everyone and these motherfugers smiling too and giving him claps. Ron included. That poo pissed me off watching him destroy a superbowl team. Thats the number 1 reason why I want Ron gone. Gettleman got put out, Ron should have followed.

As far as Short goes he hasn't done poo since getting paid. The scouting report said he was inconsistent with no motor. He got paid and he's inconsistent with no motor. A lot of people go all out for the money. But you can get paid at a very high level and still produce

      Boy the flyers look good early. Lots of bad plays and slow start by our team. Hope that changes before the score changes.

      I guess I should have stipulated outside the sacred cow.   I complained from year one that Bryce should compete for and win the starting job on his own merit but no he was just handed it. I have been right there with everyone that wants competition.  But I don’t really have a huge problem with it for this season the way it has gone because where are the viable people we don’t have to trade for? I actually am okay with tiny hands Pickett because he is so close to Bryce arm strength wise and to be honest, skill wise. Probably. And it is only a one year deal.  That also takes into account that the QB class is looking stacked next year and if Young fails miserably then we get either a reset or a real competition and there will be more guys that I would like looking at in the FA QB class next year as well.    I sort of accept where we are this year and look at it as another treading water year (at QB). I just want to get to next year with some clarity. More than anything. And they did empty out the room (behind him anyway). Again, who was really there for us?  And I know it would not be a true competition at this point anyway. They are giving him the year, like it or not.    Also I don’t give a poo about winning games IF he sucks and or goes down after sucking because draft position and that stacked QB class.  And I want out from under him So Bad.     So I guess it is several factors that lessen my anxiety over his backup this particular season.    I am not trying to convince anyone, but you asked. That’s how I look at it.
