This Cam Newton Press Conference was the most depressed Cam's ever been.

Hard to be Cam and play in a league that hates you, stole your SB, blatantly cheated you out of an NFC title when you still had a HOF WR, continuous no calls on headshots and personal fouls. Not to mention having an idiot for a HC and not having a LT since Jordan Gross.

Yeah, i watched part of it and it was tough to watch.  He was completely defeated and had no energy.  You can tell he's hurting bad...  and for him to finally admit he has no strength in that shoulder is a tell...  if he has gotten to that point, the team needs to go ahead and call it and let him seek out aggressive treatment asap so he's right for next season.

I do wonder if he needs a scope just to even see what's going wrong in there.  And i hate to say it, but this combined with TD's first few failed attempts back from the ACLs and Greg's foot make me wonder if Ryan Vermillion is even good at his job?

Ron has already laid his cards on the table. He's going to keep trotting Cam out there. This is on Tepper now. He has to step in and put a stop to this madness. It's past time to put Cam on IR and get him to multiple shoulder specialists to get multiple opinions on what needs to happen to get him right. Ron has rode this guy into the ground for long enough.

I personally blame our management, Ron Rivera, & TJ Ward/Denver circa-2016.

Good things can be said about all but...

1-Broncos straight up hunted him in 50 and Wk1 16..that hurt was immense.  Especially Week 1.  Downright disgusting.

2-We NEVER gave him a legit line or WRs for 6+ years.  On both Hurney and DG.  Perpetually awful FA offseasons.

3-Rivera never adjusted/curated a team around him, rather tried to jam him through ancient ways

I'm not willing to put all this on Rivera, but Cam undoubtedly needs to sit for the remaining of the year...

There is nothing to gain these last 2 games, and we will only lose draft positioning and/or hurt Cam...

I also don't believe Cam is permanently done... for fug's sake look no further than Drew Brees or Andrew Luck...

But there is an issue that needs addressing...

This team has 5 draft picks where we can find starter quality talents next year, and this year's draft was very good.

This year has been a disappointment but this is not an obituary by any stretch

To be fair Hurney drafted receivers in 2010, but David Gettis tore his ACL, and LaFell was just okay. Gettis actually won the number two starting spot, and looked great in 2010, in one of the worst offenses I've ever seen. In Cam's first season, 2011, Gettis tore his ACL so LaFell became the number two receiver. Gettis didn't return to form, and it was just Smith and LaFell. Good thing Hurney traded for Olsen, and signed Shockey that off-season. Gettleman took over in 2013, and didn't add anything to the team regarding the offense. In 2014 he actually took Cam's best receiver away when he cut Smith, and then there's the murky business of Jordan Gross retiring early (from a restructured contract). He then drafted some offensive busts, and Trai Turner. He wasn't willing to trade for a tackle, or trade up for one — odd considering he traded away so many picks, including a fourth round pick for a punter.

I have no clue about Cam's shoulder injury. What concerns me is that evidently the Panthers' medical team doesn't either. It's time to go outside of the house and find some real experts on the matter. Like magic, TD's knee issues cleared up when we finally sought outside help for him. It's stupid to be relying on team doctors for serious acute matters when there are better experts out there in the field of those particular issues.

Good point... I think any fan wants his shoulder better bc he truly was playing some of the best ball of his career before his shoulder caused him issues

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
