Seems like Olsen may want to play again

A big guy, coming off an injury, well over 30, that wants an extension?  Only 1 guy to call, and Greg and TD had him on speed dial.

Dumb to extend GO earlier this year...it's not about if he wants to come back or not, our hands are tied if he doesn't retire.  Hurney made sure to F that up.

They’re definitely doing it for the money. Do they need it? No. But they are. Why ask for bigger contracts. Why not play for vet min. Help the team out with the cap so they could sign more better players. Guaranteed TD and Pep aint coming for less than 3-5M

Dude. Every one of those leaders, play for the love of the game.

I'll take their leadership, and on field production at whatever their average salaries will be. None of their salaries will even come close to hamstringing the teams cap.

Great player, great teammate, deserves to stay, but this is football and he's on the never ending injury train. Hope he gets a good commentator job and replaces any one of the several commentators that need to be put out to pasture. I think he could make a decent position coach but that does not seem like the angle he's interested in.

Not so sure how much they actually "love the game" anymore...more like they love "being an NFL player".

Just a hunch.

Im sick and tired of old vets trying to play 1-2-3 more seasons to get more paychecks.

BYE olsen. BYE davis. BYE pep.

Yeh, it’s terrible that they’re trying to make as much money as they can... nobody here on the Huddle would ever do that

    • It’s not new. That particular claim has largely disappeared because it has become untenable, but a few games into his rookie year when the playbook/gameplan/personnel/everything was terrible there was endless claims, posts, even threads made that Bryce Young was physically incapable of throwing the ball 20 yards downfield in the NFL. It was also argued that physically throwing the ball 20 yards in the NFL was somehow different than college. Once he threw the ball 20 yards, the goal posts moved to 30 yards, etc. I’m not going to use the search function for you, the point wasn’t as much that one claim as it was that that was one claim out of many that has made it very difficult to have a reasonable discussion here.
    • I mean, I can get a ball downfield 40 yards.  There would be a couple massive issues with me doing it.   My ball placement would be off the charts bad.  Second, for me to get it 40 yards I'm gonna have to moon it......which would give DBs the opportunity to make plays on balls that wouldn't exist if a better QB were throwing it.  Which is all an exaggerated explanation of the Bryce issue.  To many play the literal game w/ Bryce when it comes defending him.  Every NFL QB likely can loft one up around 50 yards.  Every QB in the NFL can't get a ball 30 yards downfield in the same windows.  Or the same ball placement.  That's the Bryce issue.    But I also think mixed into that is just his QB DNA.    Take a young Brees, it was in his DNA to stress defenses and takes shots.  He would flat out be Delhomme-ish at times.  Which is coverage and assignment altering.  Brees would throw balls into triple coverage 40 yards downfield.  Is that smart? Sometimes it is.  Not because the play gets made but you force the secondary to play honest.
    • Tbf were not going to the superbowl this year so the development of our young wr is invaluable  As a side note 5 of our wr are in their 2nd year or less ( t Mac, Coker, tremayne, horn, x)  It's def a promising youth movement
