Just interviewed on WFNZ

Said his recovery is going good.

Loves the Panthers and Charlotte  but wants to do whats best for him and his family in FA

Said the Panthers and his Agent have not spoken yet.

It’s going to be an interesting offseason. I hope he stays but I honestly have no idea what’s going to happen with this team moving forward. Him and Moton would be a great combo at the T’s hopefully he stays.

Yeah unfortunately I feel like we are going to let him walk and be stuck with Kalil on the left due to his contract and our cap situation. I REALLY want him signed to play right tackle and Moton on the left. That would be fantastic.

With that being said he will prob sign with with saints and be an all pro the next 8 years.

Really not sure what to expect. He would have really cashed in this year if not for the injury.

I would guess 1 year deal to re-establish his value, but yeah maybe some team will throw money at him anyways. I’d be cool with giving him a 1 year deal or even a longer term deal for like $10Mish/year with no guarantees past 2 years.

Im curious to see how his market value is going to be.

He could've cashed big.

But a big OL coming off a knee injury, and only really had one big year.  May scare a Lot of teams.

A solid RT market extention?   Or a  biggerish size 1 year prove it deal?

Tricky situation.

The Pro Bowl nod was not warranted by his play...but I think that he can be a player.

If he wants to sign a 1 year decent dollar contract to stay, I'm totally fine.  I do not trust Hurney in this situation.

Not really

It was warranted by his play

Was a Stud RT.  True the probowl can be Skewed by fan votes etc.  But All Pro teams do Not.  So his 2nd team All-Pro is the telling part of his play, not the probowl

this is an interesting situation.  Coming off a knee injury, who knows how healthy he'll truly be?

Not to mention it was already reported that negotiations weren't even close before the injury.  I know tackles are hard to find, but if we draft one this year to play opposite of Moton, we save a huge chunk of much needed cap room, money to be used on a FA DE.

His comment about "doing what's best for family" pretty much tells it though.  Those teams with 50 mill and more cap space can give him 12-13 mill a year for 4 years with most guaranteed and it won't hurt them much at all if he flops.

    • As long as Morgan is the GM, Young will be the QB. Young is 100% Morgan's guy. The contract extension is pretty much guaranteed unless Young suffers a career ending injury this season.
    • People really need to stop placing Dan Morgan on some kind of infallible pedestal. He is absolutely in lockstop with Tepper regarding Bryce and has been all along. As far as the team being okay with 185 passing yards per game. We better have a proven monster RB in our backfield then. Presently that guy is not on the roster. Chuba has one outlier season so far and the other guys have proven nothing. Not what you would call a great recipe. The only thing we can hope at this juncture is that the highest paid OL in the league for the second year in a row elevates their play from last season and opens up some massive holes even our RB's can get through. But it still doesn't resolve the issue of predictability. With no viable passing game it is much easier to shut down any run game. No defenses are scared of Bryce's arm. It is what it is.
    • i lived in Atlanta from 84'to 92' & back then it was indeed a very different time without the internet & access to information 24/7. shortly after i moved back home to western NC around 93' or 94' the Carolina Panthers were awarded an NfL franchise & began their inaugural season in 95' so ike you i have seen the Carolina Panthers, ,the NFL ,technology, fans all evolve over the many a moon & years now some for the better & others not so ...just saying
