I'm not sure I can really say he had a fair shake last year considering how badly our defense played overall. A lot of blue chip players out there who were not being directed properly. Give him a year with better coaching and he could be really great.

It's gonna take 3yrs for a new DE to become physically and mentally able to finally 'get there' (sack) instead of almost there (hurry). Offensive lineman are among the smartest people on the field generally AND the biggest. You have to build up an aresenal of moves that work to get to the level of consistently moving these bohemoths. We watched Greg Hardy flash and almost get there then bam! Third year 11sacks, fourth year 16sacks. Unless they're named Peppers or Clowney DE is a three year investment to see a return.

Need to pull a golden state and start developing these guys, can’t bank on a de in the draft or fa so it’s always good to have a backup plan in place, not that efe is the savior but I can see good potential in him

Efe got the CJ Anderson treatment. Showed every bit of talent when allowed on the field but saw progressively fewer snaps because Ron is a fuggin moron.

Seems like decent numbers for a new guy who is a backup and probably paid like one.
