If he returns back to even 80 percent of his former self, I think that he would play well in our receiving corps. Not gonna lose sleep over him though, especially if he wants too much.

Seems to me he would be an ideal bargain bin signing...  coming off an injury, older, and would come cheap.  As you said, if he returns to a fraction of what he was, it would be a steal.  Also, he has a reputation for being a great blocker on the edge...  With us possibly only carrying 3 to 4 receivers over from last season, I figure it would at least be worth taking a look for some insurance, depending on what happens with the draft.

If his injury had been in week 8 or earlier of last year I'd say yes without hesitation.  We could use the veteran leadership. BUT... I don't think he's going to be 100% come free agency and that's a big gamble.  All that said, he may be available for cheap.

Thats a lot of burst you lose. Both? I hate it for him, but I really can’t see him as a legit impact player anymore

For near vet min would be a solid big body addition who could help in the red zone. But not sure how much he had left even before tearing his achilles... Plus I never have considered him near elite even at the top of his prime. Without Peyton his stats look much closer to pedestrian.

Are you saying Peyton made him?

If so, that is false. He made himself, he got most of his production off of slants and yac. In his prime he was a beast. I don't think Peyton made him. His stats fell off because of aging and less targets.

His frame/style of play at WR is what is lacking in our WR corps, but a 31-year old vet that is coming off a late-season achilles injury....PASS. 

I can't imagine he would be anywhere near 100% in 2019 and probably wouldn't lace 'em up until late in the season. Achilles aren't like ACLs... they are career-damaging injuries - let alone an aging WR that has already suffered one....and now, two.

With an Achilles injury to rehab and already a Super bowl ring I doubt he would be motivated to join a team unless he thinks he can get another ring like Dez

Let's take a pass on that. Good luck to him, but this is an age and injury issue. Neither are going to get better with more time.

He looked a step slower before the injury. I never want to doubt a man but those injuries are extremely tough to overcome. I think they should look elsewhere.
