PFF grades the highest rated players on the 2018 Carolina offense

- CMC?  Duh.

- We are in good (and very large) hands in the future with Taylor Moton.  Who drafted that guy anyway?  And in what round?

- Oh look, D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel were two of our top five rated players on offense.  Good thing the HC/OC didn't bother to integrate them into the offense until around Week 6.

- It says a lot about the 2018 offense that a Cam Newton lacking a right arm was the 5th best player on offense.

Samuel didn't see the practice field until week 5 (I believe) due to his heart condition and he had a ways to go to get back into football shape after not being able to do anything physical for such a long time. For some reason it's like that was never a thing around here.

Cmc had an incredible year and ended up 3rd in the entire league in total yards from scrimmage, broke the all time record for receptions in a single season by a running back,   and somehow he rarely gets talked about outside of the panther fandom.

I can almost guarantee he would have lead the league in total yfs if Rivera actually let him play the last game of the season.

The same people ignore any facts which contradicts their story that the coaches suck and can't judge talent.

So true.  We're talking about true rookie (who has openly talked about/admitted that learning a pro style offense was slow go at first) and a 2nd year player who was recovering from a heart condition....not sure why people always forget about this?  Ron and Norv's fault though.

Pesky details.

You're absolutely right, but even when he was healthy and rolling, Rivera continued to use him as a gadget type of player as opposed to just letting him start and seeing what he could do.

One season, he is gradually integrated into the offense (showing flashes) and derailed by a freak injury. The next season, they seem to only want to use him sparingly, after he is back to full health, and after he had a really good preseason, and after he purchased (and obviously benefitted from) a jugs machine during the offseason.

Rivera and/or Turner can "miss me wit all dat!"

Do you all honestly believe Ron Rivera controls the way Norv Turner utilizes his players? You think he tells Norv to use a specific player as  gadget player only?

Yet he lets his DC wander blindly through the season? That is funny.

His role and Moore'a likely never changed for the reason we've been discussing for months now.  Newton's arm. Samuel started the second half of the season but if his speed couldn't be utilized to stretch the field due to Cams shoulder than Norv was trying use his athleticism in a different way.

The Samuel situatuon didnt hapoen in a vacuum.

Ususally not a fan of PFF's ratings but I really can't argue against that top 5. Good thing we paid Trai Turner all that money to be an average OG. He and Short got their money and they've mailed it in ever since.

but hey, they are pro-bowlers! lol.
