Hey, we love our over the hill safeties. But honestly, if the price is right? As a stopgap? Yeah, I'd take Weddle in a heartbeat.

I'm starting to get a "pre-agency saints overpay for Coleman" type of feel for Reid. Lots of safetys out in the market- great, good and average all can't get paid.

He graded out still pretty good on everyones favorite PFF last year

Should’ve waited for him and let Reid go. But he wouldn’t fit well with Reid here so I’d pass. Really wanted him back when the chargers got rid of him.

Exactly. He's still a quality player. Maybe he's washed up now and the Ravens know it, but he's likely a better option at FS than anyone else we could reasonably land this off-season. FS should still be high on our draft needs in case the right situation presented itself.

Weddle has been an all around great safety for most of his career, excelling in both coverage and run support like an Earl Thomas. However, last year he had a fairly significant drop off in coverage while remaining great in run support. He had 3 PD and no picks in 16 starts last year after having a combined 10 picks and 21 PD the previous 2 years. We need a safety capable of playing center field in coverage, not another one who at this point in his career should be closer to the LoS like Reid.
