Elway: Broncos had 'big concerns' about Matt Paradis' ankle

"Connor is our center right now," Elway said. "I think that obviously we didn’t want to lose Matt, but we had real concerns about the ankle. That is why that didn’t work out. I’m happy for Matt. I really am. I’m happy for Matt that he got the opportunity in Carolina. It had nothing to do with Matt’s ability, but we had big concerns about that ankle. Like I said, I’m happy for Matt that he got what he got from Carolina. I hope that works out for him."

Elway and player evaluations don't mix. The guy is a classic case of someone surrounded by yes men throughout his life and now he can't make a decent decision on his own. Horse-teethed MFer was on the receiving end of that incredible comeback 'The Play" where the Cal Bears ran back a squibbed kickoff through Elway's Stanford Cardinals football team and marching band.

Elway was just left standing on the sidelines looking like an idiot savant plug mule.

Oh, and the record setting tackler on the California Bears team that helped with that miracle? Our own Coach Ron Rivera.

Sure hope Ron makes Elway look like a dipsh!t again.

What do we think he was going to say.  That there was nothing wrong and he just didn’t want to spend the money.  He was a good player.  Terrible GM.

Im not sure what the full extent of Paradis Injury  was but if they put a rod in there it will be stronger than his other leg.

I said it before.  I am not worried about leg fractures with guys who don’t rely on their speed.  Cornerbacks would give me a larger worry. (Cockrell)

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
