Panthers miss out on PR/KR

That's the reason I like Tony Pollard out of Memphis in the 5th or 6th round.  Actually he's one step better: RB/WR/KR.  A poor man's CMC or Curtis Samuel.  The Panthers get their return man and depth at RB and WR (although he projects more to RB).  That would save roster spot for another position, especially on game days.

Any particular reason newly signed Rashad Ross can't fill this hole?  Just looks at stats, he has a proven year of being successful as a KR, unless I am missing something?

Sure, he is a few years removed from his 4.4 40y time, and helping the Redskins to what..a top 5 kick off return unit (via return yardage average).  Just curious why this guy shouldn't be considered.

Returning punts and kickoffs are different. He doesn't return punts.

Can't be too hard of a skill to cross train in.  If you look at kick returners last year that returned at least 15 kicks, 2/3rd of them also had a punt.

Quadree Henderson had 9 punts and 5 kick off returns total last year.  Not sure it could really be said he returns much of anything either.

    • I don't really care as much about athleticism and arm strength.  While Murray might be better in that regard, I think Bryce has enough of both to do well in the NFL. The main reason this trade reference is silly is the money and the fact that Murray has been around a long while and hasn't proven that he can perform consistently when the game is on the line.  Bryce has shown that he can play well in the clutch (in the few opportunities he has had).
    • If Bryce can continue the level of play he showed after the benching, then there's a good shot we at least compete to win the division. Tampa is a solid team but even last year in our week division they went 10-7 and will be on their 4th OC in as many years. The Saints are a mess and are in a mist of a half rebuild half still trying to compete mode and will probably be starting a rookie QB. The Falcons are a wild card as they have a really good offense but are we really crowning Michael Penix as a franchise QB after just 3 games?  The only thing I want out of this season is for Bryce to come out and without a shadow of a doubt prove he's our franchise QB. If that happens then most of the fanbase would be happy and I believe we'd be in a good place record wise at the end of the season. Maybe falling just short of winning the division with a chance to sneak in as a wild card team.
