How the NFL sees us

For those who like to take an "us against the world" mentality, this might provide some fuel for your fire.

The bolded list below (and the Bills, mentioned in the prior paragraph) would constitute what the NFL seems to consider our "peer group" based on prime time scheduling.

PFT: Low expectations and populations

The NFL is selling a product that Ron Rivera and his philosophy aren't even aware of.

When the NFL is trying to sell Caviar and Carolina Reapers, don't be surprised when you're pushed to the back of the shelf if your coach prefers Peanut Butter.

And we lost most of that when Josh Norman was stupidly released by Gettleman...

And to be clear, I am not for drama for drama's sake, but Smitty and Norman brought personality to the team we haven't been able to replace.  They were also 2 of the best talents to ever play for the Panthers

And I know Cam is a personality, but that has already peaked and been played out (and that's not a knock on Cam)... I would be fine with the team having someone else who brought the personality/drama as long as their play matched it.

Yeah I agree. Mike Mitchell brought that to our defense too. Hoping Donte will progress to fill that personality role.

Well, as Parcells famously and correctly said ‘you are what your record says you are.’

the Panthers were mediocre.  The coaching abysmal. Not sure why anyone could expect any different

I have hope that there is a New sheriff in town and Ron’s run is over if no playoff  run occurs

The same hope half the fans have every year.

We got a a shitty combo of choking on prime time games this last season, questions around Cam, and stations still scared over people not watching due to Kap/Reid. We’re an exciting team but I don’t blame the stations for wanting to air OBJ and Baker over us this year. I am puzzled over te Vikings getting so many prime time games though. Cousins was terrible and the Vikings underwhelmed last year

Has more to do with the team being in a small market than it does performance on the field. The Giants sucked last year but still have 3 primetime games. Sunday Night Football hasn't featured the Panthers since the tie-gate game where Derek Anderson threw a pick-6 to open up the game in Seattle.

I remember that game like it was yesterday.

Eric Reid doesn't have jack sh-t to do with this.

The league isn't keeping us out of prime time because of Eric Reid. They're keeping us out of prime time because we played like crap last year and few people outside of our relatively small viewing area give a rat's ass about watching us.

It's not that complicated.
