He's reminiscent of Zach Martin as a prospect IMO. Martin was taken at #16.

You don't understand. Every good prospect will be drafted by pick 16. Only RBs, MLBs not from LSU, and 3rd tier QBs will be available. It is known.

There are always some curveballs in the 1st round that shake everything up and push down some players that were generally considered top 10 or so.

Last year only 2 OTs were drafted in the 1st round. McGlinchy went 9 to the 49ers and Kolton Miller went 15 to the Raiders. If anything Jawaan Taylor seems like the can't miss OT this year, so that would put Jonah hanging around the middle of the round this year.

And sometimes poo happens. We picked 24th last year and we drafted the first WR off the board when several other teams  ahead of us , definitely could've used Ridley or DJ.

You can't go wrong with picking smart players, particularly linemen. They can be the kind of guys who might not be a league MVP, but they rack up a 15 year career with a team and the respect of everyone they played with and against.

Snag him if he's there at 16.

Yeah, kinda stating the obvious, but I'd rather take a good player at a position I'd rather not draft in the 1st as opposed to a bust of a pass rusher which is the position that I really want.

That's basically the definition of BPA vs drafting for need.

    • Here in lies the rub that the supporting posters continue to ignore. He wasn’t a 2nd round pick in the 2025 class, especially with an ACL tear. It was a dumb pick for any GM who looks ahead to determine values. C and CB were much better values than an injured RB in 2024. If a RB isn’t even playing much in 2024, you have to compare him to 2025. We’re beating a dead horse but only because the defense of the pick is almost comical at this point. We’ve made a ton of poo picks and moves/non trades while Morgan was GM and the assistant GM. It happens, we don’t have to jump through hoops to act like we just had some really bad luck. The 2025 draft class is unknown so far but damn it felt way better afterwards for the first time in a long time. Embrace the potential and stop stamping guaranteed on the box of poo of the 2018-2024 drafts. We are were we aware because of them and 2025 has to hit so we can get past the 7 win max in 7 year hurdle.
    • Oh for those tired of the Mannings I have bad news, Peytons son Marshal already has college teams after him and he isn't even in HS until this fall...   I'd wager we have two Mannings in the NFL in 2030
