The Carolina Panthers select Brian Burns - Defensive End - FSU

I wasn't a fan of Burns before the draft, but after watching his film he has potential as a stand up edge rusher. His frame is great if he can add on another 15 pounds and still keep his speed he could be special as a 3-4 OLB. He's a Panther now, so im all in on Burns!

ever hear of Matt Paradis, and a returning Daryl Williams?? 4/5 line is completely set for next season and we have solid depth for LG. We are desperate for EDGE Burns is gonna be a stud, he’s special.

Paradise takes over for Kalil at C and if Daryl doesn't come back fully from injury or gets hurt again, we essentially have the same o-line as last year.

FYI: As far as the 3-4 alignment, nobody should be counting on Bruce Irvin as a starter anymore.

Starter or not hes likely to get significant playing time in the rotation. Not sure this designation means much in this context.

Hes our only experienced 3-4 OLB

I'll have to talk myself into it, but as always, I hope it works out.

I didn’t immediately hate the pick, so that’s a good thing, when I hate it immediately it’s always turned out to be a bust.

plus Hurney has always been good in the first round as long as he doesn’t trade the pick.

Yea he's not spinaroo 2.0 and sounds like a great kid. I didn't expect Clelin Ferrel to go no.4 so I honestly didn't think this would be the pick as Sweats stuff wasn't known to me (like the can't be yelled at thing I didn't hear before the draft) to the degree it must exist for him to drop.Mostly thought it was a BS heart issue which turns out to be another wack diagnosis.

He has the frame/size to be legit and the attitude to go with it.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
