And Ealy and Funchess. I think every 2nd round pick we've ever made we "had a 1st round grade on him".

I mean.  A lot of people had Little as a first round grade, with the only thing really causing him to drop was the Combine.

This, and the talk that Little was going to be the pick at 16 if Burns wasn't there was real. That's how high a grade Hurney had in him. Not necessarily the scouts, but Hurney.

The fact he didn't get a taker shows that the guy may have learned something about knowing when to say when. Old Hurney would have sold the farm to get him.

Yeah.  I don't really see what the complaint is.

Yeah, I was pretty surprised he didn't end up doing it. I know multiple GMs had a 1st round grade on him.

To me it was a no brainer---you have to make it or you go through another season with a project or temp agency LT.  Little is not perfect and he has some work ahead of him, but the alternative was not having a true LT.

What teams are drafting more than one or two starters every year in the draft? I’m talking about  actual contributors, not just bodies they’re throwing out on the field.

If you have two starters on your roster from a draft 3 or 4 years ago that’s a huge success in the NFL.

Not that I needed another reason but this proves to me that hurney hasn’t learned anything from his mistakes last go around.

But he didn't try at 21, or it would have happened before 37. Picks 21, 22,24,25,26,27,29,30, 31,34, and 35 involved trades. All those teams were ready to bargain. Oakland was making trades left and right.

If we were completely sold on Shaq, he would've already been extended. That 5th year option really only helps you if you're dealing with a really good player at a premium position. QB, LT, WR, CB then yeah. Mediocre LB? Meh... I wish we didn't have that crutch. Make the call.

Exactly...5th year and no extension means they are not sold on him yet like the rest of us and to me for a drop back linebacker that doesnt do anything extremely well i would have just let him walk. I think you risk taking the chance on a replacement there compared to other positions. Shaq doest elevate us nor does he bring us down but for 10 million...i take the cap room.
