PFF ranks run defense for all 32 teams

We were 12th last year in run defense even though we weren't as strong as usual.  We were 18th in pass defense and 15th in overall defense.  (all these stats are by total yards surrendered).

I'm not sure I make us favorites to continue sliding backwards.  I think our defense is improved this year.  But we'll see.

If we rank in the bottom half of the league with Poe, Short, and McCoy up front not to mention a solid run stuffing rotational DT in Love and with Luke roaming the field behind them and Rivera heading the defense... well, this will be Ron's last year in Carolina.

The "rankers" have to find a way to push media darling/ large market teams all into the top tier. 

Which means an inevitable slide for perceived smaller markets like the Panthers. 

Happens every year, facts be damned.

I mean we did suck last year.  23rd is probably right.  We didn't show anything until Rivera took over playcalling.

Good. Underrated is our wheelhouse.

I could not care less if every sports publication on the planet ranked every facet of the Panthers team last in the league and recommended the stadium be burned to the ground because the team is so horrible and pointless. Does not change what the team will do on the field whatsoever.

It's best to be ranked badly in the pre-season. I love when they underestimate us.

I love it even more when they forget about us. That's when we have our best seasons.
