Hurney has done a great job of putting together a squad that can make a run for the Super Bowl.  

Yeah, I know every team tries to do the same and many teams say the same thing.   There is just a feel about this team that makes me believe we are going to make waves this season.

McCoy, Irvin, Hogan and Paradis are solid veterans to replace all the veteran leadership we lost last year.

Olsen committing to play at least one more season.

Cam stronger than ever and weapons that are about to explode.

A defense that is going to cause fits for teams with a player that just might make a run for DROY.

Good draft picks across the board and decent FA signings.

Yes, I am an optimistic person and every season I feel we can do it but this year just seems to have a special feel to it.

Go Panthers.  Super Bowl bound.

I don’t want to start a new thread so will just ask, would you put any money on this team purely based on the current odds?  I would leave it to insiders because there are gaps of information that we just don’t know (eg. Cams health last season). It is so tempting this year, kind of on the fence.

My business partner was in Vegas last week. We both put money on the Panthers. First time I've ever done it and I'm a lifetime fan and season ticket holder. Also, couldn't resist those odds they were giving. haha

It all starts with taking back the division.  We need this 3-4 defense to give the saints and falcons trouble.  If that happens, the sky is the limit.

But I will say, as a fan from the beginning, this year definitely feels full of potential. 

There is always some luck involved too  but dam if it doesn’t feel like we’re primed to unleash.

If the stars align perfectly, sure.  But there are too many if’s right now.  How much of a jump do DJ and Samuel make?  They look good right now.  Can the left side of our OL hold up?   How comfortable is the defense with this transition or are we gonna get gashed on occasion until they get it down.  

And the biggest thing is health.  Not just Cam’s shoulder. But depth in various spots could be exposed with just an injury or two. 

Do I think we are a playoff team. Yes.  Super Bowl? Lots of thing have to go perfectly our way.

Can we just make it halfway through the season before we make these threads. We haven't even started preseason games yet, we literally know nothing about this team yet.

We need to play a preseason game first. We need to see how our rookies and second year players are progressing. We need to stay healthy. We then need to see how it goes when the real bullets are flying. Let's get back go this in December.

Everything you said I can positively get on board with except....

Cam is stronger than ever? I’m not sure how this is possible to know at this point or really until the end of the season to see him hold up long term.

I am actually pretty concerned about TE play. A rookie coming off an injury, who I think is overrated here anyways. And Olsen has been worthless/retired/injured for the past few years and it’s obvious at this point he’s just collecting his Hurney-fan-favorite check at this point. Very little reason to think he’s going to produce at an above average level.

Still a lot of questions that will be answered in TC and the regular season;

Will Cam stay healthy

Will the o-line keep Cam vertical

will the D struggle with the switch to 34

will they find a legit backup for CMC... if he gets hurt our offense will struggle 

will we find a competent starting nickel

In other words let’s wait until some games are played before we start talking SB
