Former Bengals Running Back Cedric Benson Killed In Motorcycle Accident

one of the worst motorcycle crashes I ever worked with, fat husband wife couple heading up to milwaukee to go see the harley davidson factory. Both on their own boomer bike.

They both crash rounding a curve, no one is quite sure why. Husband goes first through the air. His right arm gets cut off at the elbow by the barrier wire around the curve and goes off into the woods. He slams into a tree, transverse fracture of the femur, broken ribs, etc.

wife goes next. she misses the cable, but pulps both of her legs slamming into a tree.

When the EMTs got there, a totally dazed husband SOMEHOW walks up to them, holding his severed arm, and says "do you need this." wife is just putty from the waist down.

By the time I got with him both had massive external fixations and we needed three people to get the wife onto a bed pan. Husband was just shocked, poor guy. We managed to get them the same room, and eventually the husband had us fake him a nasal infection so he could get his own lmao

late winter in asheville we'll always have a randomly warm day, and when that happens every dumb fat boomer with a harley he leaves the neighborhood with like 5 times a year decides to ride the blue ridge parkway.

Problem is the blueridge has tons of shade, and you can see ice on on there well into may. These idiots don't realize that and go up there humming along. Then they hit the black ice and put it on the ground.

Every time there's a warm day Mission just offers time and a half to get more Emed people in there because we all know what's going to happen

Damn that’s brutal RIP Cedric.

I love motorcycles but find it to not be worth the risk. You can be the safest and most aware motorcycle rider ever and all it takes is one driver not paying attention or on the phone for a split second and you’re dead or seriously injured, even at low speeds.

    • Aho…come out and prove me wrong boy.
    • I mean, I hear what y'all are saying, but Derrick could have been positive without being negative.  He essentially accused people of not seeing Bryce's improvement because of their desire to not be wrong. He could've kept it about Bryce and the team. For example, he could've said: "Bryce has made strides, and we believe in him. This coming season, his continued improvement will turn a lot of people into believers."  That would've been supportive of his teammate and sent a message to the doubters. That being said, his tact almost summoned and left the door ajar for more skepticism. That's my take anyway. Bryce has improved from the bottom to perhaps skirting the line between the bottom third and mid-third at best...after three seasons. We've all seen it. Yay! In my mind, Bryce has still got a long way to go and a short time to get there, but my expectations are top five--at least top 10--always! Yes, I am a fan, so there's that, but I don't believe it's unreasonable to expect excellence. Hopefully the Panthers FO has the same mindset (and that doesn't even necessarily have anything to do with what we gave up to acquire him). That is the lens I'm looking through. Derrick Brown has his homer glasses on. He just needs to be more diplomatic and thoughtful with his words in my opinion, but I get it that he's a good teammate.
    • I have no doubt the Canes will come out like gangbusters, huge bounce back from game one - my only concern is Freddie, if he lets in a couple of softies and Dobes stays hot we could be in trouble.
