Personal opinion only, but pot has been villianized by politicians with big pharma in their back pockets. Make people scared of the big bad pot plant and give them magic pills to cure all instead. It's a shame because pot can actually help people without so many of the debilitating side effects you read about with some of these drugs. Anal leakage is not a minor side effect no matter what the label says.

CBD could do a lot.  You don't need the high THC element.  That's just trading one dependence for another.

I do have to admit that the thought of Luke Kuechly on mind altering substances brings up some amusing images.

I'm over 50. Had my first edible in Costa Rica a few months ago. The person who sold it to me said to eat just half of the brownie. Even at 50, I have this notion that I know better and ate about 3/4 of the brownie. I don't think I've ever been as nauseated in my life. I also had a hard time concentrating, partly because all I could think about was the being nauseated. 

Purely my fault. 

I'd try it again and LISTEN to the instructions.

ETA: The only other experience I had with marijuana was in college and that was maybe three times. 30 years ago.

Just depends on what you get. My sister got some brownies for the fam for thanksgiving two years ago so it’s been awhile since I’ve had some.  Some took a half, some took a full. Edibles tend to give me a more body high but the biggest thing I’d suggest is take less than you think, give it time to kick in then go from there. It was a blast, especially eating all that fuging amazing thanksgiving food.

I smoked a lot when I younger, many years ago.  

 

It should be treated the same as alcohol.  No reason not to other than history.

 

That being said, I can't help but laugh when I hear stories about how great things will be if they legalize it.  Or how big pharma is holding it back, (They would be the ones selling it).  It won't solve the national debt, nor cure dependence on stronger pain relievers.  Legalizing it will just make things easier for cops, and means the millions of people who do use it won't be criminals.  And their might be a little bit of a tax benefit from it.
