10. CAROLINA PANTHERS

Second-round pick Greg Little is still in concussion protocol, but if he has to have his number called at some point during this season, he looked more than capable. He allowed only four pressures on 82 pass-blocking snaps this preseason.

I said it before but I really believe the best option is to play Little at LT and move Daryl to LG. Greg Little is an upgrade over Daryl Williams at LT.

This seems like the best option I know it’s hard depending on a rookie who obviously needs just a little more seasoning so we’re going with the proven players. I just need to know we aren’t locked in until game 8 before we make a change if things don’t go as expected.

You can't really gauge our starting OL from pre-season as the sacks and pressures were results primarily from blitzes which would obviously out number the amount of OL blocking.

With the additional pressure you have to account for

As a whole our starting unit as a whole had what, 9-10 snaps this pre-season together and people in here were melting down, and in no game did any of the starters / Little stand out individually as a glaring weakness.

I feel that The Rams are on a equal playing field being we have 9 snaps together how much difference is that compared to no snaps and practice reps are the only thing they have to simulate which kills our advantage if we had one on that level.

I think most people can agree this offensive line has talent on paper, probably the most in the Rivera era.

The preseason wasn't exactly encouraging, although it's tough to read too much into it b/c there are so many variables that would have been different in a regular season game.

The Bills and Patriots (where the starters got most if not all of their playing time) both have good defensive lines (top 10 potential IMO), and the Patriots especially blitzed a lot.  Whether or not they based that on knowing Cam wasn't going to run in the preseason, who knows?

All that matters is how they perform Week 1 and beyond.

Like a lot of people, I understand the hesitancy in starting Little at LT Week 1, especially now given he's coming off a concussion, but I hope the coaching staff considers and evaluates going forward the possibility of putting him at LT and moving Williams to LG to get our best talent out there.

As we've seen, Cam doesn't need a perfect offensive line to be effective, but they do need to be good enough to allow Cam to hit on the deep balls that have been missing from the offense for the last 2 years.

Bottom line is Greg Little is in the concussion protocol. Daryl Williams is our best option. Don't read any more into it than that.

Little is a 6'5 gentle giant who plays in a delicate nice kind of way with technique that is all over the place. I want him to become a bone eating ogre with rage problems. He needs to meet a terrible woman who breaks his heart and takes his money or something. j/k
