Something is not right in Carolina and it goes beyond Cam Newton

That was pretty much the vibe in the stadium during the game.  Something felt off the entire time and that includes  before kickoff.  Even the player intros seemed uninspired.

It DEFINITELY showed through on TV, they all just look so miserable! We truly just need to blow it all up and start a youth movement with young and hungry players and go into full rebuild mode.

Get rid of complacent dead weight players like Reid, KK Short among others and start over

Many are pointing out the lack of energy and excitement, not only in the stadium and the fanbase, but also the players.

Open question:

What about this last off-season, including Steve Tepper choosing to bring back the ever-underperforming Rivera/Hurney twins, the starting QB coming off yet ANOTHER shoulder surgery, the lack of any *honest* effort to upgrade the OL, should have given any swingin' Richard and Richette any reason to come into this season "energetic" and "excited"?  The one honest note of possible excitement was the drafting of Burns, but even that came with its own set of questions... what would be Carolina's primary defensive formation?  4-3?  If so, what can an undersized-but-extremely-talented Burns add to that defense?  3-4?  OK, how will your current 4-3 DL and LBs react to that formation change?

QUESTIONS don't generate energy and excitement... they generate UNCERTAINTY.

Under what reasonable thought-process would anybody believe anything would be any different under yet ANOTHER chance given to Ron Rivera?

I've been thinking it, didn't want to say it, but it appears that Ron may have lost the locker room.

It was clear on all or nothing that Eric Washington has lost the locker room. TD was openly mocking him.

It starts with Cam

Actually, I agree.

It is obvious that when Cam comes to such a low physical and mental state that he can no longer carry an entire Rivera-coached team on his broad shoulders and can no longer perform the miracles required to make up for his head coaches brain-dead stupidity, then Rivera-coached teams lose and look bad doing it.

Obviously the starting point in that chain of failure is Cam Newton.

Great point.

The problem is I think the players have realized that just having Cam Newton on the field isnt enough to win anymore. As a fan I never thought there was a game we couldnt win because Cam was the ultimate equalizer and if he was on his game we could beat anyone. Now that it appears Cam has deteriorated I think the players realize they really arent that good of a team and A LOT of the roster and coaching flaws have been being masked by Cam for too long

A bunch of folks came over for the game & that was consensus.

I'm too close to the team (probably the only Panthers fan for a couple hundred miles) so I didn't notice it til they started pointing it out, but when pretty much the entire team is flat that's a big sign the coach lost them.

He lost that locker room when he continued, or allowed a very injured QB to continue to be trotted out on the field along with not getting a serviceable back up in place for a QB with shoulder issues two years running

Yes rayzor

what did the new owner say

1. Fix the line

2. Game management must improve

3. Fix backup q b situation

has he done any of these things ?

he needs to go

He wants to do the same thing. He wants to do it his way. That's fine, he just needs to look at and own the results and realize the level of suck.

Agreed. At times, I felt like I was the only one around me cheering for our defense to make another stop. Everyone cheered during third down plays, but that was it. It was almost like people knew the offense wasn't going to do anything if we stopped them. They weren't wrong but it was depressing.
