Cam has been pretty good in the 1st Quarter

Maybe its because he's gone 100% vegan and they have lower testosterone levels then real men and incidentally he's started cross dressing....but whatever ...I'm just saying .....science

and just to add to this....I'd be fine with a 6'6 Broomhilda being the panthers QB if she could play.......and eat red meat

I see that you are a dad.. I hope you don't teach that way of thinking to your child

With all of the Cam threads and how bad he’s played nobody ever points out that he’s started both games pretty perfect. 4/4 at the beginning of both games.

I decided to look at the stats and found something interesting. Cam has been really good in the first quarter. The really interesting thing is that he’s also pretty solid in the third and terrible in the 4th.

So there’s two theories you can form here:

1.He’s still hurt and he’s better when’s he’s fresh at the beginning of the game and after half.

2. The offensive line breaks down as the game goes on which of course affects Cam.

1st Quarter

14/19 | 73.7% completion | 7.9 avg | 96.6 rating

2nd Quarter

13/24 | 54.2% completion | 5.5 avg | 70.0 rating

3rd Quarter

9/16 | 56.2% completion | 10.1 avg | 90.9 rating

4th Quarter

14/30 | 46.7 completion | 4.3 avg | 45.0 rating

Just a different take to the Cam is washed conversation.

Because the plays are scripted?

Because they stacked the box to stop CMC and short underneath passes.  Because they know Cam and I say it’s his shoulder had to much ligament damage and hurt his power and he has to throw it to hard to get anything on it an Kills his accuracy.  Look at it like a baseball if you throw a baseball as hard as you can you have no control. So he’s having to overthrow everything strength wise there fore no accuracy

Yes, I know they stacked the box,  it doesn’t take 50 hard throws to make them stop doing it

i don’t disagree with you on the shoulder

the Panthers  act like ‘stacking the box’ is some new defensive theory

I've been a Cam defender for years now....hes making it very difficult   You add the veganism  which = low testosterone levels (proven by science) + his "style" = obvious comic opportunity.  I hope your kids have a good sense of humor.

I’m a firm believer Igo was on to something.

Opponents do a better job coming after Cam once they learn to time his snap tell.  I think that could play into it.

Why are we throwing 50 times with him in the first place? Even when he was in his prime we were never winning games when he was throwing 35+ times a game. Our offense has always clicked when we have a balanced mix of passing and running and more importantly Cam being part of that running. Restricting him and having him throw 50 times from the pocket is like keeping Lebron out of the paint and having him jack up 20 3’s in a game - of course he’ll look like poo

Throwing 50 times wasn’t the gameplan.

Cam does not run it anymore, and can not accurately throw past 5 yards. He used to be able to stretch the field because he would bomb it. Defenses had to respect that and the fact he could take off.

Both those are gone. So you’re left with defenders gladly willing to give up short passes, and the occasional 10-15 yarders by boxing the run leaving the backfield empty.

Tampa and LA both did this very successfully. Bend no break. The only way to stop it is to successfully stretch the field and complete deep passing routes and stretch the field.

Especially considering the system the Panther’s are running.

    • It will be really interesting to see how both sides handle this. I'm sure the team would love to get him signed to a 4 year deal based on his output so far and some potential factored in, i.e. something like a 4 year $30 million contract.  But I could see his agent telling him the best path is to take the one year offer, put up a big year next year and then really cash in. The team also has to keep in mind T-Mac's 2nd contract, which likely will happen after the 2027 season assuming he keeps improving as expected.  Even if we could get him on a budget 4 year deal for what he could become, the problem then becomes when he wants to re-negotiate in 2 years during the same summer we will extend T-Mac, and you don't want to spend that much on WRs in one offseason, just see the Bengals this last year. Taking everything into consideration, I'm thinking the 1 year deal and then getting him to sign a 4-5 year deal after hopefully say a 800ish yard season next year might be best for our cap situation and separate his and T-Mac's negotiation periods.
    • And yet jax made it no further than we did, and its very possible the Pats don't either. I think it speaks more to the overall down year for the nfl as far as having great/dominant teams, every team this year has fatal flaws that can be exploited
    • Ehhh I agree the nfc is stronger this year but their really werent any truly dominant teams this year everyone is flawed, I think the narrative for the NFL this year will to try ahd force a Josh Allen SB win
