This foot re-injury story does not add up....it's a smokescreen.

its curious that on espn they said earlier that he called in today to tell them his foot hurt.  he was at airport last night, not getting treatment like ron has said.  anybody know if he was even in the building today?   this is just weird.

They streamed it live and Person straight out asked Ron is Cam was in CLT or Atlanta and Ron refused to say.  Ron's non-answers were laughable and Bailey on WFNZ just characterized Rowboat as "a human meat shield for the organization"...lol.

Multiple people have said he is in the building today, which to me is good news.

Using a brace (which is what a walking boot is) to immobilize a sore joint (wrist, ankle, knee, elbow) for periods of time in a day is not at all unusual and is often used as a maintenance tool,  just like icing, stretching, etc....

Great catch by whomever it was that found the picture of him in the airport, new news and more good news in my opinion.  If Cam is traveling to and from Atlanta and calmly strolling around the airport, clearly it's not a severe situation.

Hopefully I am completely wrong about it being a smokescreen and Cam is back soon.

Well that sort of goes with the shoulder in option 2

No - I'm saying maybe Cam is as healthy as he is going to be.  But mentally he is not there.  So Ron has grown a pair and benched him.

Cam's QB Ratings since 2015:

2015 97.3 (8th out of 35)

2016 75.8 (28th out of 30)

2017 82.5 (22nd out of 32)

2018 94.2 (17th out of 34) (62.9 is last 3)

2019 71.0 (29th out of 32).

I realize QBR is not ideal with Cam since he runs so much.  But guess what, he doesn't run anymore.

If I'm the coach, whether the guy is hurt or not is irrelevant.  I can get better QB play from someone else.

You're wrong.  There was one play that Newton was running out of bounds and came up hobbling.  That was probably when it happened.

Yep

how many people does anyone on this board know who has a mid foot sprain and went out and was able to play at a high level in 10 days and play again 4 days later.

We are not talking lawn bowling here. He has to move on that foot, push off on that foot

lets give the man a break here

Someone here said their co-worker was on a flight with him after the game and he was in a boot. JFC. It is as simple as that. There were a few times you could see him favoring the foot in the game. Nothing more to see here. I just hope it’s not like Olsen where he thought it was good and as soon as real games start it’s reinjured.

There is another option that is unthinkable to most on the Huddle.  Maybe Cam is being benched.  Maybe Ron is tired of watching Cam miss these opportunities/wide open receivers over the past 8 games or so and he keeps believing we missed and wants to see if someone else can do better.  Maybe its not injury related at all.

Its unthinkable bc Ron and everyone else on this staff need Cam to play well if they want to keep their job.  Ron doesnt have the balls to bench Cam anyways

First they said Cam hurt it after the game

Then  they said he hurt it in the game

That is what happens when you don’t tell the truth.  It becomes obvious.

Ron also said he had no clue when in the game it started hurting Cam.  Well, I could tell his foot was hurting on that play while watching it.  The broadcast then zeroed in on Cam as he was talking trash.  His foot hurt.

Ron also lied about some BS about how they just didn’t have the run plays in because it was a short week.  Like that lie makes any sense.  Those are the most basic plays we have and Cam has always run on short weeks.

Cam is hurt. Cam is tired of being hurt.  Panthers aren’t up front about his injury (which I do get).  But they aren’t being honest.  At least a betting man shouldn’t believe them to be.

He was limping and grimacing throughout the game. You are talking about a team that played him half a season with a bad throwing shoulder. Rivera’s job is on the line so he will gamble on playing star players though injuries that they probably wouldn’t be playing through with some job security. He is way more invested in our present that future, probably another reason why he wants to play the vets.

I would not dismiss this...Cam looked like he wanted to be anywhere but in the game on Sunday

Cam's a smart dude. He had to know a good season this year meant a 100 million contract in the off season, but he knew he was hurt. Knowing that was slipping through his fingers would bum anybody out.

he literally pulled up and winced and limped after the 1 time he tried to run the ball. no need to read any more of your post beyond this line

I saw that play and thought oh no...he's limping and wincing!  I think an announcer or someone on YouTube mentioned it as well!

I literally fractured or the top of my foot my senior year in high school. I was the fastest player on my team before the injury.. after and which I decided to play out of love of the game I played on it for the last 3-4 games but the toll on speed is extreme. Your not gonna be running like you use to every step was a wince in pain because your putting pressure with extreme force on a damaged bone.

    • Thin sliced roast beef, provolone, and roasted bell peppers on a toasted sub roll.  At least one thing is going right today. I don't trust anyone who's never put Bugles on their fingertips to make witch fingers.
    • But yeh,  Bryce is the only problem on this sorry excuse of a team. You could put Tom Brady on this team and we would still suck . Worst part is Tepper and his various band of clowns have been trying to build a competitive team for 7 freaking years and are no closer now than when it all started.
    • Regardless of the trade and where he was picked, Bryce actively created deception. He wore a hoodie to the combine and was 15 lbs heavier because he packed on water weight because he didnt weigh near 200 lbs. He didn't participate in drills in a wide open 4 way, really 3, QB bid. Then there was all this hype over the S2 test that he had been practicing that we've never heard about in the draft process since. Does anyone think it was an accident Stroud's score on the S2 was released? Stroud said forget the score, watch his tape. Wonder why. There was a whole bunch of shady poo going on surrounding Bryce pre draft, and I for one, find it all a little too convenient.  Just my opinion, but he was a used car salesman that used some armor all and a wash n wax and maybe a set of white walls then schmoozed his way at dinner with Dave and Nicole and sold them that he was a super savant.  There was a whole lot of BS swirling around the BY hype train and he was a full fledged participant. Frank didn't want Bryce, he wanted Stroud. A new head coach does not pick a QB he has to go design a brand new offense around unless that guy is a generationaltalent, which Bryce was most definitely not. He picks the guy that best fits what he does and that was Stroud. This was Dave and Nicole's pick and they fuged this team like they've done over and over again since they've been here. They fell for use car salesman Rhule, then used car salesman Bryce and company. And the fans got stuck with the 4 years of payments on a car less reliable than Al Bundy's Dodge.
