That tells me if they want it fully healed he won’t start this week or next.

0-4 incoming.  I hope I’m wrong and Allen balls out.

I actually hope you're right on the first part, buy plenty of guys have worn walking boots during the week and played on Sunday.

The short-term really doesn't matter right now. If we go 0-4 resting Cam then it is what it is. We can't win with this version of Cam anyway. Our only shot this season is to get Cam right. Hopefully the OL will get their poo together while he rests up.

See that's the thing: Newton is the kind of guy who always wants to continue playing.

For him to voluntarily agree to sit down, I gotta figure the injury is bad.

See above.

Impact doesn't necessarily equate to severity and recovery time. I'm sure that foot hurts like hell and really impacts what he can do on the field. But, that doesn't necessarily mean it's a 6-8 week healing process.

No other team in the league has had their QB rushing for as much as regularly as Cam has for the Panthers.

Whatever the future holds, it's beyond past time for our running backs to start making plays.

You guys better get used to the life with a young developing quarterback. Whoever the next QB is he's damn sure going to need some semblance of a consistent running game. Time for the backs to start earning their keep.

Agreed but that’s quickly changing with the Ravens. Lamar Jackson is gonna break every QB rushing record in the books. He’s so fun to watch.

Recovery time frames are always just educated guesses.

We'll see... so was RG3.  Every running QB gets hit... hard.  Lamar Jackson is way closer to RG3's body than Cam.

Cam has been a damn tank, and it still caught up to him.

I wouldn't bet money on Lamar Jackson... if he's still doing this 3 years from now, I'll be surprised...

There is literally no proven longevity for QB's existing that way.  It is a testament to what a physical freak Cam was he was able to go so long

Also, watch Deshaun Watson... he still runs, but he has already found out how hard it is making a living running with that body type... it still remains to be seen if he can start 16 games.

I think personally think Lamar Jackson is much more of a flash in the pan than someone who changes the game... we'll see, but other than running, he is WAY down the list as a passer for the running QB's, Cam included
