I noticed . . .

Not sure if anyone else did . . . but our offense with Kyle Allen was quicker in and out of the huddle.  We were getting to the line with plenty of time to look things over.  It's only one game, but if it continues this way, you have to consider that our offense under Cam is paced the way it is because of Cam, not because of Ron, Norv, Shula or whoever.

or they just worked on that during their mini bye week and got better

I’m not saying this is on Cam but this has been a theme for him under center even after bye weeks.

I really don’t know what to think. It could be an anomaly, it could be that Kyle is better at getting the info out quicker, or it could be that the team is working on it more and there starting to gel after 3 games.

Cam isn’t stupid. Remember 2015 when we’d get to the line real quick and Cam would pick between 4-5 different plays and audible in and out of plays. Wtf happened to that? This coaching staff needs to play to his strengths. He can read defenses and make plays. I’d love to see more of that when he comes back.

I know that’s your wet dream since that’s the only thing you singled out. But a 100% Cam is better than Kyle Allen. Sorry. You should be hoping Cam comes back to 100% if you want to win a super bowl.

I hope cam comes back to 2015 form but I doubt it. If he’s not running he can’t compete with Allen as a passer

It is because of Cam. It’s always been an issue because of Cam. People try all the time to put it back on the coaches. But it was the same thing under Shula is it is under Norv. When using reasonable deduction, there is only one common denominator.

When Cam gets to the line quicker or he’s given a “no huddle” offense he plays better.

I imagine Norv gave Kyle a simpler game plan and paid more attention to getting calls in quickly so that Kyle would have time to read the pre-snap defense. Norv takes his time with Cam cause he overcomplicates the game plan and takes longer to figure out what he wants to do.

Cam looks too frustrated when the call takes a while for it to be on him.

I definitely noticed. Not only were we getting to the line more quickly and not risking burning a time out, but our quick play calls, and Allen's presence of mind directly led to that crucial 12-men-on-the-field penalty against Arizona that set us up for the third touchdown drive. I honestly can't remember the last time we caught a team so out of position and then were actually able to capitalize on it!

I don't know if it's Allen, or the coaches identified this as a trouble spot and wisely used the long week to improve on it. (LOOOOOL!!!!) But I like it, and I hope it's a trend.

This has been a recurring theme across multiple offensive coordinators

cam is the common factor

    • I see both sides of the arguments, but compared to last year we're somehow at an upgrade over completely fried Dalton and wasn't even good in college Plummer. At least Pickett and Grier probably have some desire to make more money when Dalton was happy to just go through the motions and I will never understand why they even bothered with Plummer.
    • After watching Dan for 3 yrs now, I think I understand his plan. It’s a simple plan that should work for the long run.     I saw some of this last yr. Dan wants a vet and a young player at each position. I really think we go OT if one they like there. Moton is aging, Icky will not be back until 27, if ever. We need to get ahead of the tackle problem
    • You are just stressing too much about these particular positions. You want to upgrade from Bryce and I understand that but you aren’t going to really get that without getting into a bidding war for a QB2 potential QB1 like Willis. You could possibly trade for Mills or the backup for Chicago but they are still gambles and their teams will won’t decent picks.  Again the Eagles thought KP was a capable enough backup to trade for him once their backup was hurt and won a Super Bowl with him as QB2. The point is most teams aren’t rolling with some stud QB2/3 that is going to push even a bottom tier starter. They are better off the building their roster in other areas. The Rams are rolling with Bennett right now as QB2 for example.  The goal is winning absolutely. We overachieved last year even with stumbling into the playoffs. Another year and this staff needs to take the next step in building a team. Will Grier has little to no impact on that….
