Panther's not even going to make a decision on Cam until he is 100%

I'm as big of a Cam fan as you'll find, but you can't put a QB who is playing as well as Allen is right now on the bench.

It has nothing to do with Cam,it has everything to do with how well Allen is playing.

Eh, I'm still not sure Kyle Allen is playing THAT well.  He didn't look good at all against the Texans and Jags.  Great against the Cards and Bucs, but it's the Cards and Bucs.

I don't trust him to make the big throws necessary against playoff teams, which is who we are trying to beat.  I think it would be a lot easier for the Panthers to go Newton and then if he underwhelms, go back to Allen, than the other way around.

Either way I just want to win, but I still think the best route is to go Newton when he's completely healthy and then if he doesn't play well, go back to Kyle Allen.  I'll support whatever decision they make, although I do admit it will suck if it is announced Newton is benched.  It will be the end of an era, most likely, of my favorite player ever

He's playing really well today.

keep cam out against the 49ers pls.

i dont want him dead. plus allen is doing fine anyways and it'd be a good test for him against the NFL's best DL.

Honestly, I kinda agree with this. After watching what that D did to Baker Mayfield I'm not sure you want that to be Cam's comeback game.

Even I have to concede that at this point unless something drastically changes, it's Kyle Allen for the remainder of the season.

It really sucks from an emotional standpoint looking back at all the good memories the last several years, but that's just the reality of football and time in general. Whatever happens I wish Newton nothing but the best. And as far as these "fans" badmouthing him, they can still get fugged 7 days a week from here to eternity as far as I'm concerned.

Play Allen until he sucks even if Cam is healthy. Can’t uproot a winning team

Exactly. I don’t understand why everyone is preoccupied with starting Cam as soon as we’re able. Let him rest as long as we’re afforded the luxury and bring him off the bench when we need a spark.

If Cam isn't prepared to play against the best D in the league, by definition that means he's not 100%.

How will we know when Cam is 100% mentally ready to play?

If he's physically ready but mentally running scared of a strong D like SF has that's a bad sign (and a great way to get hurt again).

Are we now in a 3-part situation where Cam has check off on being ready to play, and Riverboat & staff have to check off, AND Coach Tish Guerin (Panthers mental health clinician) also has to sign off?

Getting complicated...
