LaCanfora: Newton could miss "multiple games"

Soooo. What we already knew..

Not really.

General expectations were that Allen would start against the 49ers but Newton would return after that.

If LaCanfora is right (he's not always wrong, but it happens a lot) then it could take longer.

Any return date has always been speculation. So speculation on speculation is still just speculation.

Yeah, that Liz Frank is a real bitch.  Shes always palling around with that a-hole Tommy Jone.  The 2 of them together are trouble!

LaCanfora is a notorious hack.

Take literally everything he says with as much salt as LoL generates on a daily basis.

I'm not a fan, but what he says here about Newton needing time to get back into "football shape" isn't that big a stretch.

The future speculation is more complex, and more to the point, conditional on two questions:

Does Kyle Allen continue to play well?

Do the Panthers keep winning with him at quarterback?

Neither of those things is guaranteed to happen (and despite what some would try to say, also not guaranteed to not happen) but if they do, who knows?

Stephania Bell, ESPN's injury 'expert', and a licensed physical therapist, discussed Newton's injury a couple of weeks ago on one of the Fantasy Focus podcasts. The problem she detailed about a Lisfranc is the lisfranc is actually just an area of the foot. A lisfranc injury could be an injury to any component of that region (ligament, tendon, muscle, bone). She said everyone hears lisfranc and immediately things of the guy (she said the name, but I've forgotten) who missed a whole year with a lisfranc. She said there was no way to know without examining Newton herself how serve the injury was or what the exact nature of the injury was. She was going on what was being said about the timetable and thinking it was a less severe injury.

The point I'm trying to make here is 'Lisfranc' injury doesn't tell you as much as you might think.
