Did Cam’s dabs and grandiose celebrations lead to his downfall injury wise?

One thing that has been apparent over the years is it really seems like Cam brings out something in opposing defenders that other QBs don’t. It always seems like when opposing defenders hit or sack Cam, they do it with an agenda and with intensity other QBs just don’t experience.

I think back to alll the times other defenders have mocked his Superman pose and dabs when they sack him. Then the Titans game a few years back when he got in the defender’s face after a TD and rubbed it in.

Or the Bucs game where he slowed down and held out the ball before he reached the end zone in a taunting manner. It’s almost like players see that and it’s frowned upon so they make sure to go extra hard after Cam and “humble” him.

Look at the sacks Kyle Allen has taken so far, just very light, garden variety sacks, definitley not with the same force and aggressiveness as with Cam.

No. If anything it seems like players tend to like him and the fun he brings to the game. The intensity they bring to stop him is because he is a large good player.

His shoulder injury is rooted in a play where he was tackled getting close to a TD. The foot injury was on an extended play where he was tackled trying to escape the pocket but nothing dirty or rough at all.

Wasn't that basically one game vs the Broncos to start 2016?

And the Superbowl before it.

And several games before and after it.

But yeah...aside from all the other games refs let it happen, it was just that one.

pretty sure his injury downfall can be pinpointed.....to him giving 100% on a INT return trying to prevent the defender from scoring.  You know the play, where lazy Kelvin allowed the pick, then didn't bother making an easy stop....so, Cam, like always had to do everything.

and I am not downplaying the fact refs have allowed him to be treated like a 1980 RB and tee off on him at will most of his career.

    • I watched the Morgan presser just now. The Evero extension was to align the contract with Canales’.  Whatever that really means. Morgan sort of made a point of putting it that way.     You could infer a fair amount from that move. For one, it lines up with the thing you guys are saying. Total reboot. Contracts are aligned.
    • The whole thing is setting itself up that way.  Run it back and the law of averages says about 4-5 wins.  I think at a minimum Tepper would force Canales to hire a rock star OC.  But he’d probably just fire everyone.
    • Your debating with emotion I’m disproving the points you make with facts and statistics. You’re using arbitrary opinion statements to make a point that is illogical. We were a -70 point differential team last year, we lost to the saints twice this is a growing and young team not a contender. Clearly your not a Bryce guy, I most likely have a higher opinion of him then you do but that is besides the point. Even with an average to above average QB this is not a contending team. We have far too many holes to fill paired with a nonexistent pass rush. We need to invest in building our defense and let Bryce and this offense to continue to develop.
