Steve Smith Rips into Panthers WRs, "They may draft a WR in the 1st this year that will actually give good effort"

.....well first and foremost the point here is that flip flopping like that is ass.

Secondly if that's the case no one is ever wrong about any player then. Because they can 'change' their mind about them after the fact.

Thirdly, if you're labeling Moore as a 'bust' as of now in his second year, then you're not understanding positions or what the word bust actually means. This isn't geared towards you specifically, i'm saying this in general.  WR usually take longer to develop and make an impact. As of now Moore has been more on the average side than the bust side. For the year and half he's been here. I wouldn't label him a bust just yet, seems to me that Smith taking the hot take on this. The loss was horrible but the WR's were the least of the worries to be completely honest.

IM not calling him a bust

Smitty is sort of implying he is thus far, even pointing that we should draft a WR.

I know you're not, which is why I said it.

Like I said, Smitty knows a lot but I think he's taking the hot take on this one. Kyle had almost no time to throw that ball and when he did the receivers were smothered upon initial contact. Where they running lazy routes, probably man, that game was gone after the third quarter ended. Everyone was really just getting through the game without any further injury.

I love smitty but I don't believe he's right in this case.

I honestly don’t know how well they are against man, I gotta look at all 22 in order for me to give a solid opinion.

I think it’s unfair to Samuel who has scorched dbs repeatedly all year but either gets under thrown or overthrown.

moore has been solid all year since the fumbles

I was thinking the same thing. If Allen were on target early we would have had a touchdown instead of the first field goal. His pass was late and it floated on him.

Literally in the middle of watching the film right now. I’ve done some analysis on Twitter tonight. Kyle was bad. He should’ve been bad, because their defense is ranked number one against the pass and they got down early. That’s on him and it’s on the defense.

Steve ain’t wrong. I’m gonna show you some examples later. Like I’ve told you before, this is a bit of a positionless offense. Guys are used in different capacities. Probably a little too often. A lot of ghost motion. A lot of jet sweep. Lot of mesh concepts. Very little traditional screen game. It’s concerning.

Norv, traditionally, is all about power football and play action vertically off of that. Just not seeing a whole lot of vertical concepts right now. They do some of it. Just not as much as I would like. Maybe a confidence issue with Kyle. When Cam comes back, they’ll probably be a more vertical passing offense.

Not to mention, this is a zone scheme running team right now. And that still worked beautifully on Sunday. We told you guys all week that was the one area they could exploit v San Francisco in a close game. But the defense wasn’t up for the challenge. I came into this game putting very little emphasis on Kyle. Just needed to be a 20 pass attempts or less game. He has limitations, and he should because he’s a back up for a reason. You can’t “manage a game” when you’re down by 18 in the first half.

I don’t think a whole lot of people had this team sniffing anywhere near .500 by this point after week 2, given the circumstances. I know I didn’t think feel it would happen. I thought Allen could perform adequately, but there are limitations. We’ve always talked about those limitations.

They lost seven games in a row last year. A lot went into those losses. Not just Cam’s health. Yes, the team in many areas is very average.

I keep saying oline oline oline.

Yea there are issues elsewhere but so many will be fixed by investing in the line. Well we have done that but I’m talking successfully. Put your due diligence in a oline. It’s proven teams who get to the big game have a top oline.

You can 100% bet any team with an oline ranked below 15 in the NFL is lucky to be in the playoffs and won’t make it to the super bowl.

Plenty of examples. Even our own 2015 team with not so great weapons and skill positions had #2 ranked oline and it made up for a ton.
