His comment was really self explanatory and very easy to understand.

He was referring to the mistakes he made and wants to play mistake free and not continue making them.

Self explanatory in so far as he acknowledges he made an error, yes, but not what that error is.  Reading in to it that he 'made mistakes and will play better', sure, but the word choice implies a specific instance, and he made what appeared to be multiple errors.  My first thought was it was the Bosa interception, but I was curious what other context there could be.

Well it was the most egregious mistake allen made so yeah it makes sense that what he meant.

QB7 is an intelligent, thoughtful and talented young man....his chances of improving every week are quite good.

Whadya say we all pull for him and send him positive vibes?

Cam not even practicing yet.  Not a good sign for return next week.

In Riverboat's 15 minute presser today there was about 10 seconds of discussion related to Cam, and zero new information.  It's as if the reporters have given up on asking about it.

We are now 8-weeks out from the first Bucs game (Sept 12th, a Thurs night) and ol' River assured us Cam was "rehabbing" all of the following weekend....

....yet at this time, 8-weeks out, he can provide z-e-r-o guidance on timing of something so simple as Cam's return to practice?

Folks, don't misinterpret this as some sort of criticism of Cam, it is not that....

....what I am pointing out is how Riverboat is BS'ing us, and by all appearances stonewalling Cam.

Adam Schefter is being made to look the fool, but he's no fool.

Someone close to Cam leaked the foot-is-healed-&-ready-to-practice info to Schefter, and prior to reporting it he confirmed it with at least 1 other source, and then he reported....Schefter would never proceed otherwise.

Yet here we are, still completely in the dark....

....why so much double-talk & stonewalling from 'Boat?  Is he against Cam coming back?  Are there non-physical issues that prevent him from commenting further?  Something else?

NFL players get injured all the time and lots of details surrounding those injuries are discussed, and timelines are laid out, and updates are given, and sometimes timelines are sped up or slowed down....

....this one has gotten weird beyond belief.

Yep. So much for the Allen accolades about his ball placement. I just wish Ron did a better job of making sure his defensive players were where they needed to be.

In his defense there were wind gusts of over 50 to 60 MPH. I can’t believe we even attempted a deep pass honestly.

This is definitely the first time someone from ESPN with "a league source" has been wrong about an injury timetable.  Cam is clearly making progress given he traveled with the team.  We know he is attending practice but do not know what he is doing.  Frustration that Rivera is not walking you through Cam's rehab is ridiculous.  Could he  be more transparent?  Sure, but he doesn't need to be.

Finally, Sept 12th was 7 weeks ago, not 8.  If Cam is going to be unable to practice for 6-8 weeks, we would expect him to start practicing sometime in the next week or so.

The idea Rivera is stonewalling him is a little ridiculous.  Because of what happened earlier in the season, nobody seems to want Cam to be out there before he is completely ready.   Seems reasonable.

You are correct on 7 weeks....my bad, miscounted.

For all we know Schefter's report was correct.

What's driving the lack of transparency from 'Boat?  Something to hide?

Nine times out of ten, "league source" turns out to be somebody's agent.

They're not necessarily the most objective purveyors of information.

    • I think they are holding back to see what they have in the young guys, but I think it's a near certainty at some point they will bring someone else in. Right now (assuming we keep 5 CBs which is normal), the top 5 IMO are: 1) Jaycee Horn 2) Mike Jackson 3) Chau Smith-Wade 4) Shemar Bartholomew  5) Akayleb Evans   Obviously Jaycee is the alpha in that room and paid as such. Need him to stay healthy and continue to play at a Pro-Bowl level. Mike Jack did pretty well all things considered last year, and they gave him lower-level starter money. Fair deal for both sides.  Smith-Wade showed some promise as a slot CB. I think low-key he's a lock for the team. Different size and skill set than the other CBs. Shemar Bartholomew was the most sought after waiver claim last preseason. Was 5th CB most and inactive most of last year. Had a few defensive and ST snaps. Nothing of note good or bad but too small a sample size to make any judgment. Akayleb Evans was a 2022 4th Rounder for the Vikings. Has started 19 games (including Week 18 for the Panthers) in his career and played in 43. Was pretty good in 2023 before getting injured and falling down the depth chart last year. There's some other guys on the outside looking in, but until they show more in training camp I dont see anyway they make the 53. And only Jaycee, Mike Jack, and Smith-Wade are locks to make this roster IMO.
    • Was just reading the Ask the Old Guy story on the team's website and was shocked to see that only two 2nd Rounders have signed so far, 30 of them haven't. That isn't normal, the Texans really screwed things up for the rest of the league, no other explanation that I can think of for 30 of the 32 picks to still be unsigned at this point.
    • They need to address CB before season starts. This is not going to cut it.
