Ryan Kalil to IR

Captain Morgan

He had a great career with us and gave it all he had. He retired and was lured back out by the Jets and a huge stack of newly minted bills. Can't blame him for going and putting back more money for it than either you or I will probably ever see for what seven games?

Here's to a solid recovery that doesn't nag him for the rest of his life and happiness from here on out. He's deserved the rest and recuperation.

And yeah, Hall of Honor for sure.

Someday I hope to have a similar misfortune.

Unrelated: Anyone who wants to get rich PM me about a great investment opportunity I’ve come across involving alpaca breeding farms. The market for purebred alpaca pets is set to go through the roof.

I defended Ryan multiple times the few years before he finally hung it up and before he got his final contract, but truthfully I'm still sour about how it all went down. I'm not saying he's unworthy of the hall of honor or he's a bad teammate or anything but the tens of millions he and his brother fleeced from the franchise on their way out should be enough to tide them both over for many years to come. There's no point rushing Kalil into the Panthers hall, especially under those circumstances.

    • It's crazy with how much winning was going on when we had a little cool off period that we're still just a couple games out of 6th. Moussa is getting better every week and Coby is getting comfortable. Would be nice to get to 6 but I think this team is a lot more stacked than the last couple play ins. I can't remember the exact rules but if you're 7th seed and win the first game I think you automatically move on and don't have to play the second game?
    • I think it was a thing for sure. Panthers weren’t too many people’s first choice. Or 5th choice.  2022 and 2023… coaches fired mid season. Consecutive years. You want any of that?  He has definitely overseen a rehab of how the Panthers are perceived. Because we are a place that is seen as up and coming. And just the little thing of he accommodated Theilen so graciously, that gets noticed. It all adds up. Dan is doing a lot of things right, probably most things.  Needs a good draft.
    • K, I think that is dumb, but you do you. I didn't find anything online that made him out to be a dislikable person. I am certain the Panthers would have cared so much if they lost your fandom if they hired Sean Payton. But bet you would have come crawling back if Sean lead us to a Super Bowl victory or Golden leads UNC to a champion ship. It is easy to say you are gonna leave a team if the hire someone you dislike when the chips are down. But people like you tend to come crawling back once the team finds success.
